"I do not agree with homosexuality but in the same way that I do not agree with sex outside of marriage. Both are the same in God's eyes, I think."
I believe that, too.
There are two sides to this coin - on one side, Jesus spent the bulk of his time with sinners. He was compassionate, understanding, and, above all, gave them hope. However, he was steadfast in God's plan and told the ones he was with that He was the true path and was unwavering on that.
The other side of the coin is that, by working there, there is the danger that you will become part of this environment - and, no, I don't mean you'll turn gay - that's laughable. I'm more concerned that you're faith will weaken and your resolve will waver.
So, pray about it and do what you believe to be God's will. He will equip you - remember to seek His strength often.
As Jesus said, the healthy don't need a doctor. This could be a good opportunity to show Christ's compassion and love...just be sure your faith is strong enough and full.

I'm afraid you missed the entire point. If you are a strict Baptist, then you should not be working in a bar at all - gay or otherwise.
I turned down a good job at a casino near my home because I don't want to be part of a system that entices people with gambling problems and then sucks them dry of their life savings.
This is what I consider the problem with organized religion, if you truly believe your church's teachings - then you can not drink, smoke, date and have sex before marriage, work in bars... etc etc and etc. People do these things all the time (ever seen the bingo games at the church meeting hall on saturdays?) and then go out and preach 'the gospel' to all the inferior heathens around them.
Forget the gaybar. If you like the job and you can handle being in a bar, then the gays in it should not bother you, you have already made a decision as to what ethical compromises you can live with. You can't work in any bar and be a strict baptist, catholic or anything else.

You are doing the same job in a different environment. You are not 'encouraging' people to be gay, turn gay, or act on their gay feelings. You are simply bartending. This is no different than worrying about serving alcohol in a straight bar where men go to pick up women to cheat on their wives with. YOU aren't doing anything to encourage that behavior--what you do is independent.
Some Baptists don't agree with alcohol consumption, and with that background, bartending itself becomes more of an issue than WHERE you are doing it.

Working at any bar, gay or straight, is not a good choice. As Christians, we are supposed to be separate from the world, or live a life of example so that others can see Christ in our lives. Even if you think alcohol consumption is ok in moderation, many people don't. They are looking at Christians to see how we live our lives. By working at those places, you can be a stumbling block to someone accepting Jesus. The bible tells us not to be stumbling blocks.

A strict Baptist? Working in bars? Wow, you must have
nerves of steel ! Jesus, baptised by a Baptist, worked
among 'sinners' to get His Desiples...but He had a Godly
Plan for His Work...How do you stand in gaining favor of
these people toward God...? Think about trying to bring
souls to God or think about getting different employment
for school money.

S Job is a job, you're just serving drinks not giving hand jobs so you have nothing to worry about. I hate fast food yet I used to work for McDonalds.

Well a Christian is not supposed to condemn anyone anyway or Jesus says the person who does that is himself condemned.. so.. work away..lead no one into sin..and do not allow yourself to be led into sin.

God is everywhere and opportunities to witness can be found everywhere. As to whether or not this is the place God wants you to be, you need to pray and ask him. If it still doesn't "feel" right that might be conviction for you to leave.
