"This is the beginning, not the end," U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said in an interview with The Associated Press. "We will have to engage in more complex, long and difficult negotiations."

The document does not commit countries to specific actions against global warming. It was limited to setting an agenda and schedule for negotiators to find ways to reduce pollution and help poor countries adapt to environmental changes by speeding up the transfer of technology and financial assistance.

It’s not only about the money it’s also about guilt. Al Gore is the head of an organization that sponsors the idea of carbon foot print and if he can make you feel guilty of the size of your carbon foot print. You can buy carbon credits from his organization so you won’t feel guilty any more. (Same thing as indulgences.) Now, Big Al being the head of the organization is paid, why you know you can’t do it for free that’s not business like. Big Al uses the money he gets from the organization to pay off his carbon foot print which is so big it would slop over ten households carbon foot print. He doesn’t loose a nickel and gains a few coins in the process. Does the Nobel Peace Prize have a category for swindlers and hypocrites? He would surly be in contention.

It is about the money but there are other factors that go into this"global warming scheme". The united states is the only nation not on track with the failed Kyoto protocol why? cause we would sacrifice for the "have nots". I don't blame developing nations for wanting what we have but each individual would have to sacrifice for them to get to our level of technology and life as we know it. Even if you don't believe the planet is getting warmer, you cant deny that humans have had the most impact on earth since the industrial revolution over the last 200 years
