i've been with my man for 2 and half years but we've never told each over i love you. being xmas i would like to say it, for the first time but i'm worried i'll scare him off

wow 2.5 yrs & u ain't spoken those words. what about in the form of writing? i know i have problems saying i love you. btw i'm female. i can't say i love someone until they've said it first so i kind of feel ur agony. i tell ya what. say it when u feel the time is right. if it's while ur making love or having lunch or woteva. if he doesn't react positively then take it from there if you get there. it's hard to gauge wot his response will be without knowing a bit more about him like is he shy, etc... best wishes.

In English and any other language I'm familiar with, three words suffice. :)
Pick a time when he's relaxed, not in a hurry, and not exhausted. But make as little a deal of it as you can.
And don't freak out if it takes him a while to think about it and decide he loves you too.

I would hang some mistletoe up in your house. When he comes over, get him underneath the mistletoe... unexpectedly, that is... and just put your arms around his neck, look him in the eyes and tell him. Then kiss him before he has a chance to respond. The answer should be in his kiss, just like the song.
I know my answer was in MY man's kiss.... and he ended up telling me a few days later that he loved me first before I even said it. :)

I'd wait until after Christmas. At this time of year a lot of false sappiness is common. That is not to say your relationship is at all. HGowever, if you have waited this long, my advice would be to wait until AFTER Christmas to say it.

If you've been together that long (even without saying 'I love you') i'm pretty sure you do love each other :] Just say it.
