Islam has a general meaning and a specific meaning:

General: submission to Allah in the way he desires: this is the religion of all prophets since Adam until Muhammad (peace be upon them all).

Specific: the form of religion and the sets of laws with which the prophet (sas) was sent to mankind.

Both of them were founded by Allah himself

After the advent of the prophet (sas) both became one thing .. for anyone who doesn't follow the prophet (sas) is not a Muslim.

I hope this helps.

Islam is the religion for man as perfected and revealed by Allah, Subhanna wa Ta'ala. It is the relgion of man from God.

Muhammad (sallaahu 'alaihi wasallaam) was His slave and His Messenger. He, Muhammad (saw), did not found nor create Islam.

Islam is as old as The Almighty Himself.

We must keep in mind that humanity is the crown of Almighty God's creation, not the only creation. The Same One Who created the sun created all of us.

Same Creator. Same Faith. Islam--submission to The Divine Will of The Creator and obedience to His Laws and Commandments.

Prophet Adam and Mother Eve, the first two humans, they were the first monotheists to worship the one true God, to be precise.

And all the Prophets that came after were monotheists too. Then after the followers of Moses started restricting God to the tribe of Israel, and after the followers of Jesus started worshipping him as a son of God, God sent Muhammad to return them to pure Monotheism. One God for All (he's not just the 'God of Israel', he''s God of all His creations). And God is not two or three (God does not have sons), God is One. Prophets are men God delivered to people so that they can all worship God and God alone, instead of worshipping man or idols.

So yeah, Mohamad was the last, and most successful messenger, and he was an Ishmaelite. No such thing as 'race supremacy' with God.
