Zechariah 1:8-11
8 During the night I had a vision—and there before me was a man riding a red horse! He was standing among the myrtle trees in a ravine. Behind him were red, brown and white horses.
9 I asked, "What are these, my lord?"
The angel who was talking with me answered, "I will show you what they are."
10 Then the man standing among the myrtle trees explained, "They are the ones the LORD has sent to go throughout the earth."
11 And they reported to the angel of the LORD, who was standing among the myrtle trees, "We have gone throughout the earth and found the whole world at rest and in peace."
================
"...the whole world at rest and in peace."
- This has NEVER happened. There is no known point in history where there has not been at least some minor conflict taking place. It also doesn't look like its going to happen anytime in the future.
So much for biblical prophecy playing out now, or ever. For every passage that someone can twist or misinterpret to look like it is being fulfilled, there are many, many passages that have never been fulfilled and never will be.
One reason that you may think that "prophecies" in the bible are being fulfilled now, is because Christian fanatics take passages that are not even prophecies and claim they are prophecies. They do this simply because these passages bear some resemblance to some current event. Christians who are desperate to find fulfilled prophecies don't seem to actually care if passages are truly prophecies.
Another ridiculous thing they like to do is take prophecies that were supposedly fulfilled thousands of years ago and claim that those prophecies are actually talking about current times.
The creation of the state of Israel is a prime example of this. All of the prophecies about Israel being re-created were about the return from the Babylonian exile. However, Christian fanatics are constantly claiming that today's country of Israel is what the old Jewish prophets were talking about. That is simply not true.
Moreover, the belief that those old prophets were talking about current times has been a contributing factor in the current existence of the state of Israel. This would be example of self-fulfilling prophecies, except for the fact that the prophecies weren't even talking about the thing that they eventually caused to take place.

lets see. That book says things will be bad and a guy with a sword in his mouth will come back from the dead. Things have been bad since, and I see no brass footed weapon face.
It's a pretty vauge set of events, that prophecy. It said the sky will be covered in bronze. That could mean we have to be living on Mars.
In this world man can dispute anything he wants. I could dispute that you are even a real person, and not some bot created by a very bored programmer. You could do the same for me.
Come on now stop antagonizing people.

Dispute.
Have you ever been to the zoo and watched the monkeys. Just looking at one for even a few minutes clearly proves that we came from them. Not that the two are mutually exclusive. I believe in god, but the bible is just a story written by man based on pieces of many other religions. It's a fable; an allegory.

How do you dispute myth... you know its funny people have been saying that the bible has been forcasting what is happening now.. for the last 2000 years.... oh well history does repeat as we keep on insisting that some great divine presence will take control of our destiny and all our blame and guilt...maybe we should take control of our own lives, destiny, and do no harm then no blame will be ours... take the god crutch away and become responsible for your own actions....ah... meaussie girl your just dreaming....

You need to be more specific about what it is you think is being played out with such accuracy. Many times in the past religious people have interpreted current events to be fulfilling their prophecies. Prophecy has been written vaguely and generally enough to be made to fit multiple life events.

Yeah right. The bible plays out in your delusional little head. There is no "fact" of god.

Because its been playing out for centuries.
Its always seemed like the end times.
Whatever else the Bible may or may not be, its an interesting account of the behavior and fears of humans, and humans have always felt threatened.

Well, the bible makes alot of predictions about events, unfortunately, those predictions are vague, and easily interpreted in multiple ways.
