The best bet is to kill her with kindness. You might find that she keeps to the other side of the room and doesn't come near you much anyway. Often we work ourselves up about these things beforehand, but it goes much better than we expected. If she does hang around, be yourself, be confident, and above all friendly. People usually drink at functions like that anyway so it's not like it's a sit down formal thing where everyone hears every word that is said. Don't place too much importance on the little things and try and have fun. You can look amazing without spending up - just pull out a good ol' faithful or classic outfit, do a bit extra with your hair and makeup and wear some really nice fragrance. Hope you enjoy yourself!

Just be your own delightful self! It seems like you are intimidated by this woman and maybe she dresses better and maybe is more attractive if you see it that way. Who cares? Focus on your task at hand and not one person, as that one person can make or break your nice party. You wouldn't want that would you? Your focus is your fiance and the party you are eagerly preparing for. He is your fiance and that means he loves YOU or he wouldn't have asked you to marry him. Stick with him and the girls you know but be the better person and at least acknowledge this woman by wishing her a Merry Christmas. That will make her squirm if she doesn't like you. You may just be surprised at her reaction! (in a good way) Move on to the people you know, smile , hold your head up high, be proud of your man and have a good time. However or whatever you wear.......you will be amazing! Beauty or nicer clothes is superficial and it is what you are like inside that counts the most. Keep this in mind, have fun and don't worry about anyone........even "Amanda". Hold that head up high girl and give that Christmas spirit to all! Good luck and I hope this helps and you heed my advice. Merry Christmas!!!
P.S. Just make this party about the football team's Christmas party that your fiance will love and will love you even more for!

Girl just ignore the hater. Avoid her if possible. Be polite and don't rise to any bait to she puts out if you can't avoid her. See if you can leave work a hour or two early. Go looking amazing. If you're a little late, it'll be OK. Wear a strong, bold color that looks good on you. If red looks good on you, go for it.
Is what she thinks of you going to matter in a few days, a few months, or a few years from now? Is she an important person in your life? No? Then why worry? If all else fails, and she tries to start sh!t with you, remind her its the holiday season and ask her what is her problem with you.
Most important, enjoy yourself.

"Just have a laugh and get on with it" is good advice. Dont' let someone else drag you down. If she insults you or whatever, dont do anything about it. It wont make your situation any better. You are there for your fiance, not Amanda*. Just "put a nice smile on when you see her" and then try to ignore her.
See? You answered your own questions.

I'd say go find some self-esteem hypnosis, always makes me feel impenetrable to the world.
Or just meditate, it sounds new age and hippie but it works. Just lay down on a bed or a couch, and take long deep breaths and as your doing it, clear your mind. Works for me.
PS I don't like Amanda's either, if I ever have kids and don't like them there all getting named Amanda.

Why on earth be so self conscious? I mean you stated, that you are going with your fiance'. I mean you are going to be attached to this person, that should be your focus. Don't let your attention be distracted by a girl who obviously has self conscious issues herself. Most people who give other people these types of issues have deep psychological issues. They attack you because either you have something that they want, or you do someting that they wish they could, or you look better than they do. Just go, be happy, don't worry about it!

Hummm....
1. I'll look my best or boost up my confidence although I'm a complete fashion disaster. Confidence is sexy.
2. I'll be modest at the same time.
3. It's she who hates me, not I who hates her. She can hate me all she wants, but I'm gonna be frank. I don't hate her. She hates me, that's her problem.
4. If Amanda really hates you badly, she won't come or she'll avoid you throughout the party.
5. Smile to her, although she has that sour face. If I died tomorrow, I'll hate it if there's still someone out there that hates me.

Ok.... so your outfit needs to be something that you are comfortable in and makes you feel good! If you 're skint, just give yourself a good pamper at home with your nails, hair and skin looking fabulous, you'll shine! To avoid worrying about her I would say 'hi' to her at the earliest opportunity (just hi as you breeze past, or a quick chat if she starts a conversation). Above all, imagine her naked and smile to yourself if it all starts to get too much!

Why are you worrying about someone that much? Did you leave something out as to why she does not like you?
If you did nothing to this person go to the party and have fun with your fiance.
