can i change my anticipated graduation date on my current private student loan if i transfer from my current 2-year community college to a 4-year college?

can my student loan even be transfered to another college?

my student loan isn't federal but private, so i don't think it's necessary to inform the school's financial aid office about the matter. is that right?

your answer in a word: yes. to make certain, and to double check this, ask your private source of funds and ask your school. the rules governing students and loans quite often change. i sent four children through school and had several rule changes to go through. always, always, always ask and get names of the people you talk with before you make any decision.

I would call the company you have the loan with. They would be happy to work with you I am sure and if they need you to fill out an amendment they will tell you.

Hope that helps!

The correct entity to ask is the lender.
