I am assuming you mean bringing up the subject of marriage. Let me write a little poem:

First comes love
Then comes marriage
Then comes Mary with the baby carriage

I guess you didn't follow that did you? It is the same old story that tons of girls get stuck in.... Now you have a child, no marriage plans and your significant other couldn't care less . I would give him an ultimatum that wedding plans should be made soon. You are the mother of his son and if you were good enough to give him a son, then you should be good enough to marry...If he resists...I would pack my bag and leave.

It is a hard situation, if you have exhausted all options of fixing it, then it is best to try marriage counceling. In those sessions the therapist will ask if either of you feel as if you do not want to continue on in the relationship and why. That is a very calm and adult way to handle it. You have a baby together and don't want this to get out of hand. Or turn into an angry life together for your son.

The two of you need to sit down and talk. If you can't do that and talk like adults then I would either leave or go to counseling. Don't stay together for your son though. Growing up in a loveless household is worse than growing up with a single parent.

Just sit down and talk. If you can't have a serious conversation with him, then you probably do not have a serious relationship.

Obviously there are other things going on, but you really didn't give much information.

If you want to save the relationship then do whatever it takes, counseling included. If not, then leave.

Is this something that marriage counseling will help? I would try to work things out before leaving him. Did he do something unforgivable, or do you just feel like you fell out of love? If the latter, sometimes marriages just go through rough patches and you might be able to work it out. How long have you been married?

why should you or he leave the family home? It needs both of you to sit down and talk with each other concerning the future of the family unit and or seek professional advice.Best of wishes.
