Mandukyopanishad, which is one of the Upanishads of the Atharvaveda, sets a very wide framework for the aquisition of knowledge as a whole. The secrets of knowledge, knowledge management (KM), Self, Self-Management, Success, Achievement, Growth & improvement, Psychology of Consciousness lie hidden in this great Upanishad of just a dozen mantras (of less than 50 lines). This is the briefest Upanishad but the greatest of all the Upanishads.
It is suggested that one should study 108 Upanishads out of the 1180. If this is not possible, one should at least study the ten principal Upanishads. If that too is not possible, one should at any rate study Mandukyopanishad. This underlines the importance

Awareness.Pure awareness, that is awareness where no objects or thoughts present; awareness in itself. It is not awareness of something, just awareness.
prajnanam brahma - Being is Consciousness - is a very famous mahavakya - great statement - from Itereya Upanishad of the Rg.Veda which is supposed to characterise Brahman, hence prajnanam brahma is considered as lakshana vakya - statement of quality or character of Ultimate Reality, It can be distinguished with other three mahavakyas:
Tat tvam asi - Thou art That - from Chandogya Upanishad of Sama Veda, is a Upadesha Vakya, 'Preaching' Statement.
Ayam Atma Brahma - This Self is Being - from Mandukya Upanishad of Atharva Veda is a Abhyasa Vakya,'Practise' Statement
Aham Brahma Asmi - I am Being - from Brihadaranyaka Upanishad of Yajur Veda, is a Anubhava Vakya,'Experience' Statement.
All depicts the tallest and the greatest human intellect in history.

Prajna is Direct Experience of Divine Truths which results in Knowledge and Supreme Happiness.
eg. Everyone can tell us about how wonderful Mangos and Orange tastes, unless we ourselves taste it we would never TRULY know what that wonderful experience is really like or if it is even wonderful.
