About a year ago I had a root canal with a crown. The tooth ached a little from time to time but I thought it was normal. The other day i was running my tounge across my teeth and and noticed tenderness on that same tooth.

When I looked, like my inside gumline where that tooth is black/dark purple!!! I couldnt believe it. When I brush it it hurts. Im making an emergency dentis appt monday...

but Im just wondering what the heck is going on?? Im afraid that I might lose my tooth!! =(

You probably will lose that tooth. Root canals are not permanant repairs. Personally I think it is just a way for a dentist to make a whole lot of money for one tooth.

Infection is a possibility for the pain and color changes.
