Do you have a best friend from the opposite sex? I mean PROPER best friend, who talk almost every day, hang out, go out, do things together, etc.

Good question.
Yes it must be possible and would probably be more likely if their was a group of best friends. I had a mate at university who had a group of about 7 best friends and they all did everything together and there were 4 guys and 3 girls. Probably a bit like Friends the tv show.
I think if you are talking about just a guy and a girl like each other lots and get on so well that surely one or the other will have feelings for the other one, which would change their freindship.
Also it must be a problem if one of them is in a relationship with someone else, their partner would surely be jealous of their partner's best friend.
I also feel that if you really click with someone of the opposite sex and you like them loads as a person then usually you fancy them too!

It is a bad idea for a man to have female platonic friends, I have had two such friends and in both cases they started playing mind games and prick teasing. Like Chris Rock the black American comedian said. "To a man a platonic friend is someone he has not shagged yet" and To a woman a platonic friend is a dick in a glass case because you never know. In other words they will string you along and feed off of you in various ways without giving anything back unless their needs change in which case they will want you to become more than platonic.
Also I found that such women often start to act like girlfriends, ie they manipulate the situation so that they get many of the benefits of a full relationship and the man does not. It's a case of the man gives and the woman takes.
In both cases I found that the two women both bitched, plotted and manipulated situations to ensure that other women would be scared off, and the two certainly bitched about each other.
Both women would tell me what a dear friend I was and how honest and decent, caring, considerate and reliable I was. One of them always said I was a complete gentleman. In the end both women returned my kindness patience by stabbing me in the back in various ways.
After being alone for some years I decided to get a girlfriend. It is easy to get a girlfriend, there are lots of women available and interested but I was only interested in someone who was honest and decent with good moral standards. It took me five years to find such a woman and we have been together for a year and a half now.
Everyone I meet tells me what a lovely woman I now have, except my two ex platonic friends who both hate her.
In conclusion, I would rather cut my head off and boil it like a turnip rather than have another lying, scheming, plotting manipulating b.itch of a female platonic friend.

I have quite a few guy friends & yes we do talk almost everyday & hang out & do things together.. so yes a straight guy can be best friends with a girl... theres nothing wrong with that!!

Yes of course. Some of my closest friends are girls, and some have become such good friends with me that the relationship could not be called best friend, but we do not love each other. In fact they come to me with their love problems and I always ask questions from them to try to figure out the impossible (how a girl's mind works:). So now they are my adopted sisters. I can not even imagine falling in love with them or them with me. And I am definately straight by the way. :)

I will say no. If both mates are SOME what attracted there will a connection between you too. If you get excited a little more when one of your homies or girlfriends call, you have feelings more than "FRIENDS." My "BEST FRIEND" and i have the same thing but we ended up going out for a little bit than broke it off. It sucks because i think she wants to just the best friends but its harder for guy to just be best friends with girls than for girls to be best friends with guys.

of coure, theres no rules saying you can or cant be friends with a guy when your a girl or vice versa. you just enjoy your relationship and dont worry about the fact that your best mates despite being of the opp sex :)

yes because my best friend is a guy...we tell each other everything..to who we think is hot..to people we hate to death... i have a boyfriend and he has a girl friend...and we do talk about whats going on in our own relation ships..we spend time together during the week..at school...we talk on the phone everything...I LOVE HIM TO DEATH and nothing can change that!!!

Yes. my best mate is a girl we talk all the time and hang out alot but it does ruin most relationships and no belives you your just mates. i've known her for 11 years. so it is possible.

yes they can i have to best friends who r boys and i dont feel the urge to sleep with them. we always go out and do things theres six of us altogether (one big group of best friends) and yes we talk everyday hang out etc belive me the phone bills are huge my mum usually goes through the roof

Yeah, and we are friends only because we like what we have. To become romantically involved would complicate matters and ruin the great thing we already have.
