as I see it the only answer I ever get to a tough question from a christian is "You just need to have faith"

Faith is no substitute for hard cold facts and evidence
So far I have been asking my easiest question and not one believer has been able to back their beliefs up with hard cold evidence so this series is over

if you cant answer the 3 easiest questions then there is no way that the other 1997 questions can be answered as they get harder as they go along.

Well it was nice while it lasted

"How is faith blind admissible evidence"?

The supernatural – including God, heaven, hell, Satan and tooth fairies – is an invention of the human imagination. The following is for those who believe in the supernatural or indulge other fantasies in preference to reality.

Faith and logic are antithetical. If religious adherents would admit that they believe for PERSONAL, rather than logical, reasons, THEN they would be honest about their "faith". But it’s dishonest to claim one's faith is logical – faith is a personal position, not a logical conclusion.

Faith and doubt always go hand in hand. Faith without doubt is BLIND faith. It takes a closed mind to sublimate doubt to the point of blind faith. Normal people leaven their faith with a little common sense. Doubt always nibbles at the edges of their faith. After all, without doubt, faith would have no context, no purpose, no meaning, no point. Would it?

Because there is no evidence for anything supernatural (including God), NOBODY can claim ANY knowledge of it. Anybody who does is lying or delusional. It takes suspension of disbelief to believe in the supernatural: one must convince oneself that the impossible is possible. This is the opposite of curiosity. You have one life, one quest: yet you choose to surrender it to something you can’t possibly know anything about.

When people talk about faith, they're usually talking about the supernatural: God, angels, miracles, etc. There is, of course, lots of doubt involved because the supernatural is entirely outside the human (natural) realm. It's not so much that God or angels can't exist . . . the real point is that NOBODY has access to the supernatural and thus NOBODY knows ANYTHING about it. Anybody who claims to have faith in something he knows absolutely nothing about is actually confessing to placing his imagination before, and above, his intellect.

Imagination has its place . . . but not where life decisions are involved. Placing imagination above intellect is surrendering your quest for meaning. You are surrendering the meaning of your life to your religion; to your version of God.

And that's fine. Just be honest about it. You made a leap of faith. Your faith is a personal position – not a valid logical conclusion.

He also said with faith all things are possible. Although to be fair, he probably never said any of those things. in fact "he" as in a historical Jesus probably never existed as an actual historical figure rather a representation of the thinking of the early Church. Interesting how god makes a 180º change from old to new testament. I thought he was the same today, yesterday and tomorrow. guess not. Jesus also is accused of saying that if you keep your eyes on him you can walk water. Well, tell that to the fatties from the Bible belt. 200LB of weight doesn't seem probable. That's basically what religion and religious faith is all about "Faith". Faith is belief w/o evidence, so it's easy and requires no work on the believers part. It's fine if you want to think this way but when they push it on to others, then it becomes a problem.

Faith is not "evidence", it's a response to evidence.

In fact, Christians who don't allow evidence to challenge their faith wither and die in their beliefs.

But that works both ways, doesn't it? If YOU are presented with "cold hard facts", will you respond, or will you wither and die as a person, stubbornly clinging to your own personal myths?

Are these three questions all you've got? What happened to the 2000? So far you've not really challenged me, I hope you're not giving up.

You really haven't gone in depth yet. The only thing you've accomplished is to ask questions and then declare in advance an artificially narrow criteria for evidence, nothing but an arbitrary decision by you. (The narrowness, of course, is not a definition of evidence, but it can serve as an indicator of how you have artificially narrowed your own mind.)

The whole world is open as evidence, and you have no such authority to narrow it. I therefore ignore your definition and move on, because in my mind, I would like to know the whole world, which is why I studied and practiced your religion for a time, as well.

Christians who have daily contact with a living, breathing deity tire of this sport because it appears as nothing but bigotry, which is often all it is.

The theory of evolution is riddled with issues; in particular that Cambrian Epoch, and yet I'm sure you find a system to bridge those gaps. Is that not faith?

I happen to believe these words are being typed because some simian once threatened Charleston Heston; but to me, what carries the greatest importance, is that God provided the venture capital for all of this.

I, too, consider that faith.

Ummm, you spelled "pity" wrong...

But anyhoo.... Lessee...

OK

We have faith, which we need to believe.
And we believe BY faith because we do not have to see to believe, but have faith instead, which is better than seeing because sometimes we see things that aren't real, so we need a better form of identifyability for legitimacy, so we have magic faith from the Holy Spirit Ghost.

HSG gives us the power to believe things that are really impossible to believe otherwise - I mean...

Like walking on water, splitting seas, burning/talking bushes, water to wine, etc, etc, etc....

We can't just believe this stuff. I mean WOULD YOU???

Of course not! You gotta have magic faith.

With magic Bible HSG faith, I can literally believe ANYTHING and what makes it even more believable, is that everyone else around me believes it all too and they claim to have faith and since I need to belong, I make similar claims as they do and everything it getting easier all the time...

I'm just glad I wasn't born in Afghanistan, cause I'd never have faith because I'd have fake faith from Allah and I'd goto Hell.

Faith is not evidence for Christianity. There is no scientific proof for the existence of God.God will never be proven to exist by using human logic . For those who believe in God,no explanation is necessary. For those who do not believe in God,no explanation is possible. If you don't like this answer, tough luck,It is the only explanation possible.

EDIT....I really feel sorry for people like you..I commit sins like everyone else ,but i would rather be dead than to have your egotistical nature. You must be very lonely having no one to give you a challenge. But it is probably just as well so you can stay unbeatable. How would you react if someone knocked you off your pedestal,or is that unthinkable?.

FAITH: "Faith is the assured expectation of things hoped for, the evident demonstration of realities though not beheld." (Heb.11:1)True faith is not credulity, that is, a readiness to believe something without sound evidence or just because a person wants it to be so. Genuine faith requires basic or fundamental knowledge, acquaintance with evidence, as well as heartfelt appreciation of what that evidence indicates. Thus, although it is impossible to have real faith without accurate knowledge, the bible says that it is "with the heart" that one exercises faith.-Rom. 10:10

Faith is a fruit of God's spirit, and God gladly gives his spirit to those who seek it. (Gal. 5:22; Luke 11:13) So person without faith are not seeking that spirit or they are doing so for the wrong purpose or are resisting its operation in their lives. Many things can influence this:

Lack of accurate Bible knowledge
Disillusionment with religion
Do not understand God's permission of wickedness
Lives dominated by fleshly desires and viewpoints

HOW CAN A PERSON ACAUIRE FAITH?

Rom. 10:17 "Faith follows the thing heard." also compare Acts 17:11,12; John 4:39-42; 2Chronicles 9:5-8 a person must find out what the Bible says, and he will strenghten his conviction if he examines it carefully so as to be convinced of its realiability,)

Rom. 10:10 "with the heart one exercises faith." )By meditating on godly thigs to build up appreciation for them, a person imresses them on his figutative heart.)

Faith is strenghten when a person acts on God's promises and then sees the evidence of God's blessing on what he has done.-See Psalm 106:9-12

Perhaps you have a friend of whom you would say:'I trust that man. I can count on him to keep his word; and I know that if I have a problem, he will come to my help.' It is not likely that you would be saying that about anyone you met for the first time yesterday, is it? He would have to be someone with whom you had long association, someone who had proved his dependability time and time again. It is similar with religious faith.. To have faith, you need to take time to get to know Jehovah and his way of doing things

No fun? That's funny I would imagine a guy like you laughs all the time, even when there is nothing to laugh about.

Btw, I have faith in that statement.

I agree with you completely. But, that is no reason for you to insult people's lifestyle's. Ignorance is bliss - life is easy if you don't have to face the hard questions. I don't blame people for going that route. Anything you can't explain, all you have to do is say "its God's plan" - comon, admit it, life would be good if it were that easy for people like you and me. But if it makes them happy, more power to them. Keep on truckin.

Religions teach their followers to just have faith. That way they won't question how ridiculous and false their religion is.
