Ok I have an aunt who has 2 kids and she lets them see anything they want. I know they are not my kids and well she's not irresponsible and they live in a very good neighborhood. Is there something wrong with me worrying about them? The boy is 8 and the girl just turned 10. I mean is this the reason kids wana have sex at younger age with every generation? am 19 and am like.... Whats up with that? have you guys seen the first chucky movie, thats their favorite. Including fredy vs jason and a lot of any movie you can think of. most ofthem get very sexually graphic? well i know my english is bad i just wanted to know if you guys think am exaggerating, kids should be treated like kids right? she cares more about her furniture then her kids, she wouldnt even let me play monopoly on the living room table.

I agree, their are ratings on the movies for a reason, PARENTS should think about using them

Yes and no... I saw Nightmare on Elm Street 1-4 in FIRST GRADE. I still love horror movies but have always known the difference between right and wrong. As for sex, that does worry me. I have a friend that's a teacher and she told me about her 5th and 6th graders that she hears talking about sex and oral. Thats alarming... I didn't know what a BJ was in sixth grade... I do think that kids a growing up way to fast and I'm willing to bet we'll see the cosequences of that in the next 10 years...

Well with the rate that we're going, I'm not surprised where young girls are reaching puberty even at age of 9...
But yes, I do think it's weird that they favorite movie is Chucky and not something, what, childish (not looking down upon it since I enjoy those kind of movies)...
They should at least be introduced to other types of movies to get a broader perspective

What happened to the 90's cartoons?!? Flinstones? Rugrats? Those were the best days of my life!!

8 and 10 and allowed to watch movies with sex in it! Not in my house! My kids can't watch spongebob. Now movies like horror flicks are alright for the older one but not young kids. I happen to be really strict as to what mine can watch. I don't like a lot of the shows filled with witchcraft, spongebob has really loose morals and drives me up the wall. So I watch what my kids watch.
I also notice that my 4yo tries to emulate some of the things he sees on TV like attitudes in Scooby doo and such. I don't ban that but I keep a close eye on it.
Edit: dude Flintstones were before the 90's! any body remember the Jetsons?

Of course you're not wrong to be worries, but you're right...they're not your kids. Although, I believe that not everything is for kids, that doesn't mean it's the end of the world if a kid sees sex or violence. Maybe you should try to explain the situation of what's going on to help them understand the depth of what's happening on screen.

I think it is a very bad idea to let the under twelve kids watch PG-13 type movies.

wow! everyone has their own way of upbringing.....it is very sad that not enough people think like us...very sad...but u can't really do or say anything cause then u r the bad one. my advice....when u do spend time with them talk about more positive things and let them know that what they r talking about isn't very nice or aproppriate.....they will look up to u more if u do this but don't make them feel any different..afterall it's not their fault u know

It's really the responsibility of the parents to monitor what their kids watch on TV. There's nothing you can do.
