This frustrates me sooo much I cook cupcakes all the time and they are sooo scrummy the kids love them and even my hubby takes them to work however I cant make them look good because EVERY time I cook them the tops rise to high and or crack when they are ready..... please help...... any ideas are appreciated!!!

Cupcakes crack because of two things...too much flour (dryness) in your recipe, or because you've whipped too much air into the batter. I'd say it is the air and beating the batter too much because the tops of your cupcakes are high.
Try a little less whipping...it won't make them rise as high as before, but the cracking problem should end.

I was looking a several recipes while researching your question.

The recipes called for cooking cupcakes until they cracked on the top. So I would way you are doing nothing wrong.

Just fill it in with icing and be on your way. You must be doing something RIGHT!
