Sorry to inform you but chocolate is in fact poison to dogs.
This is NOT a joke; it's a proven fact. I'd advise you to get medical attention for your pet.

There is a 24 hr emergency clinic somewhere even if you have to drive 50 mi to get your dog there. Call any vet office, they usually leave info for emergency cases on their answering machines. Not all dogs die from eating chocolate, but you can`t take that chance. It would be good if your dog barfed up the choc. before it gets absorbed into her system. As a last resort call the ASPCA Poison Control Center, # is
888-426-4435. Cost is $55, u will need a credit card. But u will pay more if u take her to an emergency animal clinic. Good luck and get moving.

How much does your Rot weigh? The general rule is chocolate becomes toxic for dogs in large amounts, about 1 ounce for every ten pounds. So if you dog weighs 70lbs if it was far less than 7 ounces of chocolate than she will probably be ok. She may be sick and throw up eventually but otherwise be ok. If she had close to 7 ounces or definetely if she had over 7 ounces of chocolate you need to get her to a vet as soon as possible.

None, chocolate is poisonous to dogs and it can and does kill them...this is not though to be confused to the 'chocolate' dog treats you can buy...but you never give regular chocolate anything...hard chocolate, icing, biscuits or cake...to a dog. Not if you want to keep it.
Your dog is sick and has been poisoned...stop wasting time on here and get it to a vet!
By the way...stop making excuses, don't you have a phone book? or directory assistance? Who cares if it's 2am...there are emergency vet clinics...too bad if you have to drive a long way! It's your negligence that's done it...how did your dog get three chocolate bars without you noticing?

Possibly this is too much yes. The theobromine in chocolate effects dog's kidneys. The only thing you can really do is get hold of a vet. Ring all the ones in the phonebook. They really ought to have voicemail messages telling you the number for emergency provision in your area.

You should get a hold of some emergency vet or something or google "how to make your dog throw up" or something. Just try to make him vomit asap! Dark chocolate is especially bad for dogs! the cocoa levels are high in dark chocolate and make thier hearts race! The high cocoa content is what makes chocolate bad for dogs but milk chocolate has a very low cocoa amount (it's mostly sugar) but DARK is bad! You need to do something quick to get it out of him/her ASAP!

Your dog may have just got a upset stomack. But if she startes to act like she is unresponsive, then, call the vet number any way. they should have a recording for emergencies on what number to call! If you are too concerned, then call any way. They can answer your question better on the phone!

The vet usually prescribes ipecac to make the dog throw up the chocolate before it does any damage. I advise you to call the hospital and see if they can help in any way. Don't let your dog lay down or rest, try to keep him awake.
