That's very normal. When some puppies first come into a new home, it can take some time before they feel secure/comfortable enough to eat. I have two dogs - one gladly ate within an hour of coming home, and one didn't eat for a day and a half after coming home. All dogs react differently to coming into a new home, and yours probably just needs to take come time before she feels ready. Put a bit of food in her dish and make sure she knows where it is. You can even try to hand-feed her a few pieces to get her started. She will eat when she is hungry. As long as she is drinking (puppies become dehydrated very quickly), it will be ok to just wait a bit to see if she eats. Make sure there is a bowl of water available to her at all times, and also offer it to her often. Put a bit on your finger or in your palm and see if she will lick it off. If she has not eaten or had anything to drink by tomorrow night, give your vet a call and ask what they think you should do.

Whatever you do, do not give her milk. Cow milk is NOT good for dogs to have, and especially puppies who have sensitive tummies anyway.

Also, please do give her something better than Pedigree. I know you didn't mean to choose such a terrible food for your new pup, and the commercials make it seem like the right choice, but be a smart pet owner and don't be fooled. You might as well be feeding her sawdust covered in gravy for how nutritious Pedigree is. It's easily one of the worst on the market. The main ingredient in this food is something that dogs cannot even digest. PLEASE, for her sake, choose a food that is rated AT LEAST 4 stars here: http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/

Here is more info on Pedigree and why it will most likely do your dog more harm than good in the long-run: http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/showproduct.php?product=5&cat=all

EDIT: Eukanuba is a small step up from Pedigree, but it is still a very bad food. Again, I know you don't mean to feed your dog this terrible food, so don't take this as an insult. I know you want to do the best for her and give her quality nutrition that will allow her to live a healthy, full life.

Again, she should be eating a four-star food at the very least. They are no more expensive than the garbage foods and are much better for her skin, coat, and overall health as well. Please do take a look at that site and choose a quality food for your newest family member. If you are not able to shop anywhere but a pet store (the best foods are usually only available at smaller pet businesses, like local groomers), you might want to try the dry food Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover's Soul. It is sold at most pet stores and is a very good food, and usually the same price or less than Eukanuba, which really is a poor quality food. Feel free to mail me if you want any more info about dog nutrition or more recommendations for quality food.

The reason your puppy is not eating maybe due to the fact that she is in a new environment and she misses her Mother. If you put an alarm clock under her blanket before she goes asleep she will think it's her Mothers heartbeat and it will be comforting to her. The more comfortable and relaxed she is the better, then she should start eating and drinking very soon. Although you can't be too careful with pups either so I'd suggest you bring her to the vet to have her checked over, also feel her nose if it's cold that's good but if it's warm it usually suggests that there could be something wrong. Play with your puppy make her feel at home! Give her plenty of rest also & do the alarm clock under her blanket too, all these things should help your new puppy!

I suggest to keep an eye on her and if she is playfull and happy then just leave a bowl of food out for her and show her every now and then the food. If she gets tired like all the time and starts having diareha then a vet trip in a hurry is needed. She could be just adjusting to the changes of a new place and new people and new food. If you know what she was being fed before best to stick with that for a bit till she is use to you and new place. Later you can change it. Also I have learned if you want wet poop to clean up feed wet can food if not and you like dry solid poop best to feed dry. My vet told me growing puppies need food in their bowl at all times. Once they are grown then you can feed so much a day depending on your vets recomdations for a dog of her size. Hope this helps but do keep close eye. Take care and good luck.

Try some canned puppy food. Maybe warm it just a little in the microwave. If it continues to have no appetite, take the pup to the vet b/c it might not be feeling well.

Don't give your puppy milk! Their system is not meant to digest cow's milk.

Congrats on new pup!

Call your vet!
Did you get a health gaurrunty from the person you got the puppy form?
if you had your puppy shipped they will be a little shook up and tired so just leave the food, water and a pad out! she will eat and poop when shes ready
Good Luck!

Your pup should be scarfing down food and water, but she may have anxiety from separation.

If she's not eating in another 24 hours, take her to the vet.

Any dog or cat who does not eat and drink in 48 hours needs immediate attention!

If it is under the age of 2 months it still needs to be with their mother. Have milk out for pups over the age of 2 months and smoe solid food. If that does not work try wet food and milk.

Try mixing some warm water with her dog food. It makes a soup and when my puppy wouldn't eat she ate this. But just don't give it to her too often because it tends to give them runny poop.

Ut oh you sure she was weened before you got her? You might have to bottle feed her if not.
Try getting her some warm milk using your finger or a rag you soak in the milk and see if she will take that.
If she wasn't completely weened you are going to have to hand feed her.

It just getting to know you guys. Give it sometimes. It will eat sooner. Eventually if that puppy is very hungry, it will eat.
