It is the shape of a tulip that goes around the neck.

I also need to know if these collars are uncomfortable or heavy? I have a husky who has a SERIOUS fence jumping behaviour. We tried building fence after fence but it's not working. The real built in fence is the only one that can keep him in but at the moment his head can fit through it. So I'm planning on having a collar put on him to restrain him.

J-D don't reply unless you have straight facts please. They can be purchased from pet stores and vet shops. Oh I relaised they're called Elizabethan collars.

Elizabethan collar. They are uncomfortable and heavy. You don't want to leave a collar like that on a dog for any length of time and without supervision. They are meant to stop a dog from licking stitches not keeping them from jumping a fence.

They are called E-collars or Elizabethan collars. The collars are not heavy, they are just cumbersome and mke it difficult for the dog to get at the area they had surgery on.
I am not sure what you mean by a "real built in fence". I too had a dog that went over fences. He, however would just come to the front steps and lay on the front steps.
A while back someone on Y/A told about a bar that was atttached to a fence and when the dog tried to jump the fence thy would fall back because this bar just rolled free. I don't know what the bar is called or the cost. Perhaps someone on Y/A can help you with that. Or try searching for something about anti-jumping and fences.
Good luck.
I hope this is of some help.

Elizabethan collar or e-collar. Based upon the way my dogs behave when they wear them I'd say they are definitely uncomfortable - I have one dog who goes into a frenzy when she has one on.

build yourself a 7-8 foot fence , brick wall as they cannot dig underneath it , invisable fences do not work on huskies , they are escape artists and jump very high , once they get out they will not look back .

My vet calls them 'the victorian collars' - probably not the right term.

Have you tried the invisible fence? We don't use one but apparently they can work well... Might be something to look into

The vets are the only ones that can give those to dogs. Not much could happen but I would not do unless my vet said it was alright.

A cone? They are pretty light. I am not sure if you could just go to the vet and request one, but maybe you can, just give them a call.
