It's kind of assumed that there's a real number of people in Hell and one day that number will stop increasing. If that day does come you'd think it should've been day two or day three. You know when there's not a whole lot of people going to Hell.

Everyone who has refused to allow Jesus to be the Lord over their life will be going to hell. So I guess that there will be billions in hell.

By definition, there can only be a finite number of people in Hell, because there have only been a finite number of humans. The number might be very large, but it is still finite. Presumably Hell will never over flow because a) it is a spiritual realm outside the bounds of physical reality as we understand it, and/or b) God foresaw the needed capacity and built Hell to fit.

It's not clear why you think it would be full on day two or three, or how we would have any idea from this end how many people were going there.

That's assuming Hell exists, of course, which is not certain.

Actually there is no hell now. There's no Bible text that says there is a hell now nor is the devil in charge of hell.

There will be a hell one day, a judgment for all. There are many Bible texts that tell us of the judgment of God.

I think the punishment in hell will be largely based upon that person's sins. The greater the sin, the greater and longer the punishment. But hell will not last or burn forever.

Hell is an "event" not a place.

It's in the Bible, Revelation 20:9, NIV. "But fire came down from heaven and devoured them."

I seriously doubt God would have his children happy in heaven knowing our loved ones were eternally burning.

Plus God has promised us that he will create a new earth out of the ashes of this one we live on now. Earth will be the center of all the universe and galaxies and peoples elsewhere as God will restore everything before sin entered the world. It doesn't make sense that there's a lake of fire always burning and punishing others. This is not in the nature of God to bring everlasting punishing.

I think to the sinner who will be in hell, the greatest destruction and pain is not in the burning, but in knowing that you are eternally separated from the love of God. There are simply no more second chances. It's over.

Take time today to talk with God. Talk to Him in prayer as you would a best friend. Ask God to direct you to the truth, to understand and learn of His love and the free gift of salvation as found in the Bible.

hypothetically, there cannot be an infinite number of people in hell because there is not an infinite number of people. and according to christian dogma, a line will be drawn under people going to heaven and hell during the final accounting. if this is a competition between god and satan then satan will win it hands down because the head count in hell will massively outnumber those going to heaven, as only a small proportion of humanity has ever followed christianity.
i'm an atheist so this is just speculation in the fantasy world of the christian cosmogony

No, the number of people who have lived on this earth throughout History is a finite number, therefore, even if ALL of them were in hell, the number could not be infinite.

I don't believe in such a place (at least an eternal hell). But for sake of the argument if there was a hell then there couldn't be an infinite amount in there, because there was never an infinite amount of human beings to begin with. It would only be a finite amount.

Although there is no evidence of such place, there is a finite number of people, including dead people. The sun won't burn forever, so I can safely say there will be a finite number of people. So even if everyone goes to Hell, the answer is no.

Not an infinite number, because God will put an end to this earth and heaven. That's when people will stop being born.

That number could increase by people not asking Christ into there hearts.... but I'm pretty sure that there are an infinite number of people in hell.... and what people dont understand is, is that when you go to hell, there is no coming out of it, you are there for the rest of eternity.........

There is no hell - relax.
How can there be when we keep reincarnating?

Exactly which life would we be "judged" on?? (there is no judgment either)

Do you think GOD can die? Well, we are the "same stuff" as GOD, therefore we as that energy can never "die".
