The Holy Trinity is very hard to comprehend. Picture a triangle and put God in the middle. Then around the sides put God the Father, God the Son (Jesus Christ), and God the Holy Spirit. There is one God, but is capable to act as three persons at the same time. He is NOT two faced. He is all powerful and is able to do that. Contact me at reneetallstuff@yahoo.com and I will e-mail you Scripture to back it up.

Well first and foremost, try to understand that God is not actually a person, He (or it, rather) is an omnipotent entity, not bound by our human limitations. It's a holy trinity of God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
Consider an onion with it's rings. There is a peel, and ring after ring, yet it is all "the onion". The onion however is only 1 onion and exists in one place. God is without boundaries, and doesn't have to play by the "rules" like time or physical space. He created the idea of existence as we know it, after all.
Hope this helps, and good luck in your search!

"Jesus often prayed to his Father. Why would he do that if he was the Father? There would have been no need to do that because he would have been able to do his own will."
Jesus prayed to his Father because he was born of a Human mother and was on Earth as the embodiment of God. He had to separate himself from deity to truly suffer on Earth for our sins. He often did not perform miracles, but asked for them to be done by angels and God the Father. God can not die, it is a law that God set forth on mankind, not an eternal rule that God must submit to. Jesus is God in human form, able to feel our pain and ultimately suffer our judgments. I'm sorry that He had to, but I'm glad He did.

Several people gave a lot of good responses. All I can add is this: we Christians believe that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit have always existed (they didn't have a beginning, but don't worry, we really can't comprehend this either!). Jesus, also called Jesus Christ, is God the Son who came to this earth to live and die as a man. He never stopped being God, but was born as a baby and matured or grew up just like a normal human being. The big differences are He didn't have an earthly father, as He was born miraculously from the Virgin Mary; and that He came back from the dead after He was crucified. One of the other responders has stated she will give you a list of Bible verses or Scripture verses.
Yes, it can appear to be confusing. We can't explain it all, just share with you what God the Father and Jesus our Lord has given, and try to answer questions. Please remember to read your New Testament, and post your questions as they come to you. I have to tell you, some of our non-Christian folks will give you some colorful responses, and to be fair, some very thoughtful responses (thanks, CC, for one of these. You are not far from the kingdom of God). Many of us on this forum are indeed believers and will try to answer from a Biblical perspective. God bless you!

If you are serious...God is a unity in plurality. The God-head consists of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Sort of like the US government....Executive, legislative and judiciary. Is Jesus God in the flesh then? Yes. Consider Genesis chapter 15 (it may be 17 but I am too lazy to look it up at the moment). God makes a covenant with Abram. In those days a covenant was nothing like anything we have today. It created a family relationship where none had existed before. Covenants always had stipulations for cursing or blessing. The thing about God's covenant with Abram is that at the crucial moment God made Abram fall asleep, and God alone walked between the pieces of the animal...thereby signifying that if He (God) broke the covenant, may the same thing happen to Him (be torn in two); and if Abram broke the covenant, may the same thing happen to...not Abram, he's asleep. The only one out there in the bloody sand is God. So, He says if Abram breaks the covenant may the same thing happen to Me (God). Jesus' death certificate was signed that day.

God is the Almighty Creator of us and the Heavens and Earth. Jesus is the only begotten son of God, who was sent down from heaven to die for our sins, So we can live in that everlasting paradise for eternity. But we have to repent and be saved, with Jesus in our heart, and be true and faithful to him, cause Jesus is the only way to receive God. We were born in sin and with free will. But we have to follow God's will to be in that everlasting life for eternity. Even though we have free will. But that is a choice for us to figure out which way we will go. Good Luck and God Bless You!!!!!!!!!! Oh, reading the Bible will help you, that is the truth about God and Jesus....

When Adam fell in the Garden of Eden, Thus sin entered into the World. Man had to be redeemed for that sin. God loved his creation so much, He supplied a redeemer for man, Thus himself becoming the sin sacrifice so man could be redeemed for their sins, and not be bound for Hell. So God, manifested into flesh, became man and also the sin sacrifice for us. God becoming man Jesus Christ, God in the flesh. Then as Christ accented into Heaven he said he would send the promise of the Father, which was the Holy Spirit. He said that the Promise-The Holy Spirit- would not only be with us but would be in us. This fulfilled the Trinity of the Father. God the Father-Creator- God the Son-Jesus Christ- and God in the Spirit form- The Holy Spirit.

Jehovah God, our loving creator, is the Father and the Almighty God.
Jesus is God's son whom he sent to earth to die for our sins.
Two seperate, but many times called one as they both stand for the same kind of love for man :-)
After reading some of the answers to the questions on this board, I most certainly can see how anyone could be confused! The thing is - you will receive different answers from different faiths...but the one that I gave you is what the Bible teaches :-)

Christians believe that god and jesus are the same. They think that jesus is a human manifestation of god, as the holy ghost is another manifestation of the same god.
So you see, most christians think that god, jesus and the holy ghost (all three things) are one in the same thing.
They believe god, sent himself as a human (jesus) down to earth to die for human sins, only to resurrect (not really die) and ascend to heaven to sit by the side of himself.
Got it?

The Bible says we will never fully understand the Godhead. We look at it as God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Ghost. It's kind of like a 3-in-1, 1-in-3 thing, if you understand that.
