Not as like "preacher", being a leader of a Christian church, as in any one who attempts to "pimp", or sell, his/her religion, kind of like begging and groveling for you to see the "light" of their own particular religion and convert to it.

I think it's so pathetic, religions whose goal is to go out "and spread the message/truth/light" and seek to convert everyone to their faith are just disgusting. A religion should be "Yea you want to convert to this religion, ok, but I'm not going to lecture you and beg until you do."

Oh come, converting to religion should be a private thing, not some guy waving a poster at an intersection going, "Become a Pentecostal today and get Salvation by getting closer to Jesus!"
Let the people make decisions on their own.

At my boyfriend's sister's birthday party, she had a few friends who were missionaries. Someone was asking what they actually did in Central America and one of them responded "well, we go to the schools - find out what people believe and then we challenge that".... being at a party where all my boyfriend's family were - I behaved myself. But I felt my face going red and thought I was about to explode. So to answer your question - YES.

Tell right away you are talking about those TELEVISION PREACHERS.! right.

Yeah I am leery of them as well. When I am watching them on television I get the urge to grab my wallet and hold on for dear life.
When watching them I also get the same feeling I get when dealing with a used car salesman when buying a work truck.

Those are not the real preachers:

The real preachers will get up in the morning get their work done then go to the hospitals and visit the sick and dying. A lot of times even if the sick don't go to their church.
The real preachers will then go visit all the shut ins who are unable to leave their homes. Often going paying their bills for them and bringing them hot meals and it makes no difference whether they go to his church or not.
The real preachers will then, go to the nursing homes and visit the people in the nursing homes.
Then a like of times it is back to the hospitals if there are some critically ill people he is visiting.
If his church is in a rural area a lot of times he will be putting two, three even four hundred miles a day on his car.
Then he gets home around ten, eleven, twelve at night. Gets a little sleep. Gets back up and starts all over again
And on top of all that he has to squeeze in funerals, weddings, baptisms, and councilling.
Did I fall to mention trying to maintain a good stock of food to give families in financial trouble who are unable to buy food.

A preacher I know, is around 86 years old and still going at it.
He had a car wreck not long ago at around 2:00 in the morning on his way home. He was visiting people from his town. They had to be hospitalized in the bigger hospitals in the city. It is around 40 miles from his town.. If I remember right the patients were spread out among three different hospitals.
So don't confuse the REAL PREACHERS with the TV preachers.

I despise preachers who have these big mega churches and say send me money and God will make you rich. they pray on the widows and seniors who cannot get out of the house and listen to them on TV.
They can however, send them money and they do, so that these guys are super rich and rarely help any poor people.
this little methodist church serves hot meals to homeless people the people in the church are volenteers.
Or the Babtist church who went down and served meals to workers at the Katrina diaster. There was two places where the Jehovah's Witnesses had food tents where they fed workers who came to rebuild people's homes. Nothing was said about these people. Who quietly helps people.
But the mega churches doesn't do nothing to help, even movie stars does more. They are a bunch of crooks.
I think all their money should be taken away and given to help the poor. Make a homeless shelter or something.
Or turn some of their big mansions into homeless shelters.
People would be better off to donate to the SPCA to help animals. It was funny they said more of the money contributed to them was used to actually help something.
Why do people think that giving money to rich people gets them into heaven.

Or you can look at it this way.
Preachers believe they have found something great and wonderful and want to share their good news with others. It is really very admirable and kind of them to go to the extent of trying to pass on information of eternal values even though they may be rediculed, rejected, yet they feel compelled to struggle on b/c they feel it is that important.
Those who hear can choose to believe or not.
There is a sense of being your brothers keepers in that if you did not share the information than you are not living the best possible life and may have to answer to that.
But dont despise their tenacity and passion, its done out of love or thats how i take it.

Yeah i pretty much despise preachers, i am a bit partial to monks since most of them do have humility and don't scream at you. They are pretty civilized and some of them make good conversations of theology. Evangelical preachers on the other side are loud and prideful(and more often than not quite stupid).

No I don't despise them at all. I think they only doing what they are called by God to do. And everyone has a choice to listen or not to listen to what they have to say. It is also an individuals choice to accept convertion into the belief whatever it is. even Jesus himself was a preacher and he still well known today. Can you despise an innocent man who gave his life to DIE on the cross for us???? I theink not

Nah, despise is a strong word. Just don't care for them much. Though there was a guy on Young and Bloor in Toronto - he scared me. He went like -FIND THE LORD or something when I was passing by :)

No because I am one. We do not seek to convert, but to save people from going to Hell. Jesus is the only way to eternal life. I don't have to beg, I only tell the truth.

I would not use up my mental energy on hating anyone as that gives them control over my emotions. Believe me, living happily leaves no time to waste on hatred of any one.

Are you trying to slam Christian preachers only? There are a lot of "preachers" in a lot of denominations and other religions who try to do the same thing. I AM a preacher and do not beg, etc., as you are saying.
