Most websites you buy blanks guns from say that you can't. But I believe they are just saying that so you don't actually change the parts and make it a real gun. But all thats plugged is the barel right? You could just change the barel on the gun and you have a real gun after that. Right? I'm sure someone knows.

NO YOU CAN'T.........The websites are stating the truth, not to mention just attempting to modify a Blank firing Pistol is a criminal offense under Federal Law. They are made so they cannot be converted, and are constructed of poor quality (Pot Metal) so they will not stay together should someone be foolish enough to try and convert one. If you want to seriously hurt yourself or worse, go ahead and try it..You will turn the blank gun into a hand grenade that will blow up in your hands...This is NOT a joke.......

Most of these retards don't know what they are talking about n just repeating same bs about laws n sh1t. Laws aside. Let's put into perspective. A blank gun is a gun shooting a cartridge but with no projectile attached. If u watch YouTube on nail gun blanks shooting air rifle pellets, it exceeds 2000fps. That's more than a standard .22lr would do by large margin. A blank charge is capable of firing a nail into concrete so there must be a lot of pressure behind it. To undermine power of blanks just shows ones lack of knowledge about firearms in general. If you are to convert a blank gun to fire live round I suggest u unblock the barrel first n then try it by remote firing as in clamp gun down, tie rope to trigger n hide behind solid foundation n test fire minimum 15 to 20 shots n inspect weapon before firing by hand and check for fracture/ stress marks all over.

I'm not going to lecture about legality as it's up to you.

Can you modify a blank gun so its able to really shoot? Of course you can. But it is:

#1: Illegal.

#2: Dangerous, since they are made of inferior metal than real guns.

There is no easy way. Blank guns are made to fire blanks, period. Modified blank guns are illegal and dangerous to the user and whoever their are pointed at. Think hand grenade going off when you pull the trigger. Zip guns and other homemade guns are also illegal and dangerous. So leave gun manufacturing to the experts and get the real think when and if you can legally do so. Take the safety course and if possible, get your CCW. Be a responsible gun owner/hunter.

Blank Revolvers

Where are you- England? What kind/manufacturer/model are you asking about? For most recent blank firing toys you are asking for trouble. HOWEVER- some old H&Rs, Iver Johnsons, and Webleys were built on the standard steel frames, steel cylinders, and had special partially blocked barrels installed- these have been known to have had barrel obstructions machine out and regular ammunition used in them. Smith & Wessons, Colts were sometimes made for movie special affects/ props on standard frames with special barrells, short cylinder chambers in odd blank size- these were made to look like regular pistol for movies, were conversions from standard pattern and can have the regular barrels and cylinders installed. Most of these were made bfore 1986. These were revolvers. A small Beretta auto pistol based on Minx for movies was made in .22 blank barrel- barrel could be changed back to .22 short with a bit of work- was not quick change standard but could be done. California case of someone arrested with one that was used in robbery that functioned, was old stolen movie prop gun converted. If you are talking about new manufacturer with zinc frames, aluminum barrels, special 7mm blank cartridges you may have dangerous conversion as others have noted- but reports in British papers refer to converted blank firers being used by gangs, some blowing up in hands, others being used to shoot someone else and shooter not having gun blow up, special homemade ammo being used based on blank cartridge. Be carefull now.

I think is wide point,,, I think the metal is poor quality,, but technically you can converted looks like a real fire arm and changing some parts you can avoid grenade effect ,,, barrel is the frst issue.. second anmo lengt because standard are longer,,, they so many ways to create,, you just have machinist tools and good luck

This can not be done legally or safely.

If you manage to alter the pistol to chamber a cartridge, the slide, and frame do not have the strength to contain the pressure of the exploding gunpowder gases. It will blow up in your hand. That is WILL BLOW UP IN YOUR HAND, not "may blow up," or "might blow up," it WILL BLOW UP.

So, unless you are seeking inclusion in the Darwin Awards for 2008, forget about this idiocy.

Sure - given a machine shop and 25 years experience...
Why bother reading the cautions that the MANUFACTURER puts out? You know the metallurgy better than they do...

If you try and fail, your friends will call you Lefty.

bad idea.

no...barrel is plugged and usually just has an exhaust port..plus, the chamber pressure from a REAL bullet would cause the gun to blow up in your face

.....don't even try it...you'll go to jail if caught!
