Church services are simply meant to be rather proper undertakings; you're meant to respect the place of worship, and the being / force that is being worshipped. Hence, they feel that anything overly "colorful," so to speak, or anything that is rowdy or potentially inappropriate, should be avoided at all costs.
And at a time when children have short attention spans thanks to brightly colored toys and television shows, people are being raised into a world where it's even more difficult to pay attention during worship.
I don't believe there's scripture in regards to lack of entertainment in church services; it's most likely just how things worked out.

Back when I went to church, it was as if the pastor had a 20 minute time slot to fill, but only had 5 minutes worth of genuine new material to preach, and had to "pad" to fill the remaining 15 minutes. Or else the rest of the congregation was so clueless that he had to talk for 20 minutes to get the point across. I didn't find the singing to be boring though.

Pick as many as you think apply:
1) You don't care about going to church.
2) The pastor is really boring.
3) You are too fleshly to understand what is going on.
4) You are just not into it.
5) You don't agree with what's being said and want to run out of the door.

You just have to shop around for the right one that fits you on a personal level. You know you in the right place when you are being fed the word of God and your thirst is being quenched. You should be able to feel His presence there for the most part too. It also needs to have a good praise and worship service that suits your style. Such as: gospel hymnels or contemporay christian, whatever fits you. Also, you will know you are in the right place when you find yourself wanting to go back for more. You will be hungry and thirsty and you will want to be fed and to drink of Gods word and His presence. Being in the right place will not be boring. God is not limited to a certain style of worship or music as long as it glorifies Him and His kingdom. <'))))><

nicely, it would desire to be you or the provider. the two you have been there with the incorrect motivations and motive. Or it would desire to be which you in simple terms understand the religious deadness linked with the classic provider. while examining the Scripture and comparing it to what maximum folk now understand as a 'provider' because of the fact the main ability of company accumulating, one can't help yet see 2 diverse entities. The 'provider' shape is extra corresponding to a motivational speech, the place as what the Scripture describes and proscribes is plenty extra participatory and consequently extremely no longer straight forward to discover uninteresting. Come on now, do you particularly think of that God, the writer of each thing, would desire to in all hazard be uninteresting? If no longer, then the boredom would desire to come from the variations which adult men have made.

It doesn't say anything in the bible about building a church or going to church.
Yes, church is boring.

Maybe you need a different church. They're not all boring. There are churches to fit anyone's preferences these days. I can't say I agree with the idea, though, since church shouldn't be all about us, but rather all about God. Our focus has strayed, it seems. But, it's not my place to judge.

I think it happens to be so. I know just how you feel, sometimes. They're not all great.
Being involved in the church, getting to know people, finding a church whose style of worship you like helps.

It means that the church that you go to has nothing to offer you. IT'S BORING YOU. It's time to find a church that sparks your interests.

the folks that designed them did not consider the audience at all. they made them very long as they were thinking it took more to contact the Diety or that it needed to be said over and over in different ways. I do not like to attend them at all in any demonination.
