the word hell is translated from four words, gehenna, hades, sheol, and tartaroo. sheol and hades mean nothing more than grave. gehenna refers to a fiery pit outside of Jerusalem and tartaroo is only mention once and it has to with the confinement of the fallen angels(demons). as for the traditional christianity view of hell it is not in the bible. the lake of fire( the earth erupts into a ball of fire) happens after the 1000 year reign of Christ and is for the sinners that refuse to obey God the father who will teach his laws to everyone. why they do this is to scare you and maybe to have some control over you. most religions have used their god(s) and laws of their god(s) to sway people to their way of thinking and to bring some order to things no matter if they are right or wrong. i love revelation 12:9 Satan has deceived the WHOLE WORLD.

Not very tactful. Working under an evil spirit. Jealousy.

Again he may have meant well but due to circumstances the words came out the way you have said them.

Could you imagine how Jesus may have warned of any possible dangers?

For your own sake don't let that attitude of that person prevent your salvation or hinder your walk with God.

I guess hes thinking of the sin of pride, idol worship rather than god worship and thats in line with his beliefs. You have to make up your own mind if you believe him or not.

A pastor once told me that 50% of the Bible is crap. Then, he stressed how important it is for me to worship it.

Maybe they're not all as insightful as we make them out to be..

I don't know why he told you that, but the truth is: If you have ever accepted Christ as your personal Savior, you will go to heaven. If you have not accepted Christ as your personal savior...you will go to hell. You shouldn't idolize you muscles or any human being...I don't know if you do or not, but that's for you to decide.

So it won't come as a surprise to you. I've come to realize that people are upset when they don't get what they expected to get.... so if you already know you're destination, you won't be so upset when you get there.....

He should've told you to put God first, and all other things would come together.
