Depends on your taste in shows. Right now I am watching "Popular" on DVD -- seeing the show now six years later, its amazing how much more I get the satire in that show.

I would also recommend "Firefly" just for all the information in the unaired episodes that provide key background for the movie "Serenity."

Other good shows on DVD are Babylon 5 and Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

I don't know if you can get it in the states (or if you will have to go on-line through BBC America), but I also though "Hex" was a good show.

I totally agree with that last guys answer. While I love news and will very shortly miss my weekly dose of Pushing Daisies and Ugly Betty; there is something to be said about catching up of shows I may have missed during there first run or where on cable.

Currently I'm watching:
Weeds, Big Love, Deadwood, Battlestar Gallactica, The Office and 30 Rock.
These are all good and I intend on contining with them.

I also recommend:
Ugly Betty, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Charmed, Xena, Freaks & Greeks, My So Called Life, Popular & Alias, to name a few.

Good luck and happy tv'ing.
