ok well ive always had strong belief in ghosts/ spirits because my mom did. im only 14. but when i was 11 and visiting a relatives i could feel the presence of things. and not good things ive learned to decide the difference. and the last night i was there(me and my mom packed till 3am) we climbed up the stairs to are room and we started hearing things climbing the stairs. now lately ive heard foot steps and voices. specifically voices talking to my dog(crazy i know) but he'll leave my room (he never does) and sit on the couch looking at the cieling and ill be in my room assuming my dads up and on the phone or something (i dont know exactly what they say) and so i walk out, the voices stop, and my dog keeps staring till i snap him out of it. is there anyone i can talk to about this? and do you think its just in my head?

You are just in touch with your spiritual side & spirits are more attracted to those that believe in them. There's nothing to worry about- ppl probably lived on the property where your house was built or if it's an old house, lived in the house, and passed away. The thing is they don't think they are gone-so they roam around. Tell the spirit to go to the Other Side through the white light. I think u should go get a Sylvia Browne book-she talks a lot about it-get the one called the Other Side and back. It's a great book about her knowledge of all this. I read it & it made me realize I'm not crazy.

I've watched documentaries on the topic of ghost and hauntings on the Learning Channel. People who study ghost had found that upon discovering the identity of the ghost and researching their past, it seems they all died of an accident, in war, or a homicide. Seems these ghost had their lives cut short. They died, but were not ready to leave the living world. They refuse to move on to the afterlife until whatever is bothering them is resolved. Check out the 1999 movie release of "The Sixth Sense," starring Bruce Willis and Haley Joel Osment. From what I've learned watching the documentaries, I'd surmised the writers of the movie had done their research well and incorporated into the story what I've learned on the documentaries. If you're up to it, get over your fear and see if you can communicate with these ghost. Find out what is unsettling to them that they can't leave this world, and move on to the next one.

Maybe you could post this question in the religious / spiritual section of Y/A - those readers may have more experience as to what you are saying.

As for your mental health. I don't think you have to worry. Some people do have the ability to see and hear from the spiritual world. Others of us don't.

just wanted to say my family also experienced our dog staring at the ceiling one night, one time only. We learned the next day that the previous owner of the house had died when the dog was doing that. I think she came by for one last visit at the house. He, the dog, did not bark. He just stared and panted really fast.

Since your mom believes in ghosts too and obviously has this gift, I'd talk with her about it.
