I probably seem to be a Mormon basher, but my motive is not to bash them, just to expose the fallacies that the Mormon Church teaches. I am an ex-Mormon. And I remember as a child being taught things on my grandma's lap that I never could find in the Bible. Things like Satan and Jesus being brothers, Satan wanting to force people to do good, and Jesus wanting to give them free will, then Satan rebelling. Now, I never heard these things IN Church, only from my mom and grandma.
Anyway, I drifted away from the Mormon Church for unrelated reasons, (such as a lot of abuse in my family, drugs, etc.) It wasn't until after I accepted Christ that I actually read the Book of Mormon, The Pearl of Great Price, and Most of Doctrine and Covenants, that is when I realized how unscriptural the whole thing is. That is also when I finally found out where my Grandma and my mom got those stories from too. I used to like going to church, singing "Oh the book of Mormon stories says that we must brothers be, given this land, if we live, righteously." But the problem is that it was all about a different God than the one revealed in the Bible. A different Jesus. The Bible reveals Jesus as the only begotten son of God. The Bible does not teach that we all can become gods. Those teachings are from the book of Mormon.
I don't hate Mormons though, I know that many are like I was, not really knowing what their church actually teaches because they haven't gone that far into it. I believe there are some saved Mormons, but I don't believe the Mormon church is responsible for their acceptance of the truth because it doesn't teach truth. The fact is, many of my relatives are still in the Mormon church, believe me, I do not hate them.
The Bible is the only inspired scripture, that may not be what you've been taught but it is true. If you compare the Bible and the book of Mormon carefully, you will find many things that just don't match up.
Anyway, I think I told you more than you asked, but that is where I am coming from, just not wanting to see more people deceived.

I was raised a mormon. I have anscestors on both sides of the family that were close friends of Joseph Smith. I served a mission, taught Sunday School, Elders Quorum and served in the Elders Quorum Presidency. And yes I am now an ex-mormon. I believe the church is not true. I believe the BoM is fiction invented by Joseph Smith. I believe that the general authorities know the church is not true, but choose to continue to lie and decieve people. Being someone who is completely devoted to honesty, I will fight anyone and anything like them. I don't attack the mormon church because they are mormon, but rather because they are liars.

I don't know what mormons/LDS classify me as, maybe a basher, I try to keep iot nice, but they probably think i am out there like Ed Decker. I went from mormonism, to wicca to atheism, and I do believe that mormonism got me into wicca and atheism. (wicca because they believe in the God and Goddesses) and (atheism because you make yourself your own savior and mormonism you can become your own God, no need for the savior). I am suppose to be off the roles even tho I got an offical letter, but I did not go about it the right way, so I am not sure my name has been removed, however the missionaries are still after my son.
I am currently a christian.

I'm a charismatic, non-denomintational Christian. I think that Mormons are very mislead by a false prophet and a book that doesn't line up with the Bible. The Bible clearly states that no one should add or take away from it's teaching and that everything we need is already within it's pages.
Revelation 22:18-19 (New International Version)
18I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to him the plagues described in this book. 19And if anyone takes words away from this book of prophecy, God will take away from him his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

blessed 3 said it perfectly ...lol that rhymed. We wouldn't (bash) as you put it. If we didn't care about you. I know what you are coming from. I don't agree with people who put down the mormon religion just to hurt peoples feeling that have different beliefs then them. However, real christian that (bash) aren't really bashing at all they are trying to lead the followers of the LDS church in the right direction.

One man's trash, is another man's treasure.!
It doesn't matter what anyone believes, we have freedom of religion for a reason. We came to this country, and fought a war for independence. to be able to practice, that freedom.
And as soon as we established our freedom of religion, we turned into those we were trying to escape.
Hello, and I give you the Puritans! Telling people what to think, and consigning them to the pillory, if they didn't do what they were supposed to do,
You would have thought we had learned.
If people investigate a church, and join, hurray for them. If they find that it does not have what they want, after all? Then leave!! But you don't have to denigrate it.
I still think religious bashers are the lowest life forms, on the face of the earth, and Mormon bashers are the worst form of low life.
That mentality is the kind, that formed mobs in the 1840's, and led men to think it was perfectly all right to go out, and murder a man, because of his religion, and then rape his wife on the ground, next to her husband's body.
Or burn a town to the ground, because it is a sanctuary for those people. And they would chase them from state, to state.
Be an ex Mormon, or don't be a Mormon, but mind your own business either way.
No one likes sour grapes.

hmmm I play along with church stuff because it's fun I guess. I have fun at church sponsored events. It's a good time. However, I do think it's all based on lies, but I think the same of the Bible, so I guess I am ex-mormon, but really I still play along, and then laugh about the ridiculous stuff that goes on with my friends at school. I think that the lifestyle is good, I think that the way we focus on families is good, but it's still based on bullshit.

I have admittedly bashed the mormon faith, it is one I just have a very hard time seeing how anyone can buy into it.
That being said many of the mormons I have met have been some of the kindness people I have come across.
I like the people, the faith confuses me.

I'm not a Mormon basher. The difference between me and the Mormons is I believe that they only way one can get to heaven is by accepting Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and know that Lucifer and Jesus are no way brothers.
I believe everything a Mormon does not believe and I do not believe everything a Mormon does believe about the Word of God. In other words, in my Book, God's Word, God is the Author and He ended His Word with Amen. God did not call anyone to help Him add anything to His Word, meaning Joseph Smith.
