I think people refuses to go to church because they have better things to do... like having a real spirituality.

And I also think that christians are faced by agnostics start mumbling prayers out of fear.

Fear is the main issue for them.

It's what moves them.

But that's not their choice.

They were trained to be that way.

I think it's simply because they feel betrayed; you don't agree with what they feel is "right," and that angers them, because they want everyone to conform. I'm had similar problems, though I'm atheist.

I have no problems with people that do OR don't attend church services. I've attended in the past, I don't attend now, but in the future, I might. I don't know. I haven't looked into the future much yet, religion-wise. But when the time comes, I'm sure my church will welcome me back for a couple Sundays here and there, even if it is as an atheist. If they won't, I'll find one that will.

I may not believe in it, but I'm still open to learning about other beliefs and cultures.

Some Christians simply aren't that open. They feel that everyone should believe in "God," and everyone should go to church.

Cled,
I choose NOT to Judge You or anyone else no matter what their beliefs. If you or anyone else is interested in knowing what I believe then I will share that but I will also be quiet when that is not wanted. I believe that a Christian should be attending services so that he/she is fed from GOD'S WORD and to be constantly uplifted in spirit. I have several Agnostic and Non-Christian friends who I get along with very well because I do not believe that those who live in glass houses should ever throw rocks. In other words, they know I will NEVER put them down and I will not keep bothering them about attending services with me until THEY want to do so. Have a wonderful weekend and a great Christmas with your family!
Thanks,
Eds

I'm a Christian and I don't attend church. It is for personal reasons and would not recommend it but it does not mean i do not have a relationship with God. Whoever is getting angry with you either has no interest in your personal problems or has no understanding of what some of us are going through.

If they politely ask you, politely tell them why you choose not to go. If they are overly persistant, let them know that they should respect you enough not to pressure you. Tell them if you ever change your mind, you will let them know. (You did say agnostic, not atheist, or I would have given a different answer.) If they are acting angry in front of you, it would be a good time to point out that you can't see that it is doing much to improve the quality of their life! For the record, I am a Christian.

I think that most of the people who refuse to attend church know that something in their life is wrong and they don't want to change, and that if they went to church they would have to humble themselves. I could be wrong, but that is my opinion. As for your other question, I don't know I am not agnostic

In the answer to your first question, whenever I mention that attend church to people, they tell me that they are "against organized religion". I don't ask people why they don't attend church nor do I "mumble prayers" but that information is volunteered to me whenever a non-churchgoer discovers my Sunday attendence.

There are many Christians who do not attend church, so church is not really a factor in it.

You are also stereotyping Christians... most don't get angry and mumble prayers...

I'm a Christian but don't get angry to non-Christians..

hell really exists.. and so is Jesus. you'll be saved if you recognize Him.. Christians might not go to church as long as they have a relationship with God

I've known stories about Jesus' visitations and how he showed some chosen people the heaven and hell.. read Heaven Is So Real by Choo Thomas.

My question is, why are you basing your accusations of an entire religion based on what, one, two, maybe three people?
I'm Christian, and I don't know you, never met you, and frankly if you don't want to go to church, as far as I'm concerned that's your loss. But don't worry I won't pray for you, because I'd rather pray for people who need it. Obviously since you don't need God, you don't need prayer.
