Zoom Groom!!!!! I love them- I use them in my line of work and recommend them to everyone. You can use them on dry coat or on a wet coat to work the shampoo up well and clean down to the skin. The zoom groom is also really comfortable to hold.
The thing is great it removes a lot of hair, too.
I don't care for the furminator- it seems like a money trap for fancy flea comb. I used it a couple of times and the results were not that good and you have to be careful not to cause irritation to the skin when you use it.

They work in completely different ways. The furminator actually thins out the haircoat, so the thicker the coat the better it works. The Zoom Groom is made of a soft rubber type of material that you can use to brush out dead hair and stimulate the skin. I'm guessing your dog's coat is too short for the furminator to work and be comfortable when using it. The zoom groom would work better on your dog. You might even want to brush your cat's coats out with the zoom groom after using the furminator on them.

I use both. The Zoom Groom is a bathing tool. It's made of rubber with one side covered with small rubber fingers. Use it to scrub your dog or cat and it will loosen up a lot of dead hair that will rinse out. After drying, use the Furminator. It should work well on the puggle. I have no experience at all with cats but I do know their skin is more delicate and much looser than dogs skin. Be sure you pull the skin tight before brushing lightly with the furminator.

Persian cats (and other long hairs with double coats) are best combed. The Zoom Groom will not prevent mats from forming as it will just "skim" through the top layer of fur. The furminator I have been told will ruin a Persian's beautiful coat, as it slices off many of the top hairs.

Thank you for asking this question.
I just got my furminator and haven't seen the zoom groom.
I cannot answer your question, but I am happy to see the answers from those who know these tools.
My dogs are large and long - haired.

Even better than the zoom groom is a uni groom. It is in the horse section. It is softer rubber, that is 'stickier' and pulls out more hair. But you should just try rubbing a zoom groom or a uni groom on your arm, it feels like a message, so you know your pet will love it.

I LOVE my Zoom Groom. The dogs seem to love it too because they will stand there and let me brush them for as long as I want to and it gets off a ton of hair! Personally, it's my favorite and it's cheap, so even if you don't love it you are only out about 8 bucks.

Hi, I understand that you are looking for some advice or resources to help fully train your dog or fix behavior problems. If a professional dog trainer is not an option at this time, or if you want to trt training your dog on your own (a great way to bond), I'd suggest you https://biturl.im/aU8rv
A friend recommened it to me a few years ago, and I was amazed how quickly it worked, which is why I recommend it to others. The dog training academy also has as an excellent home training course.
