Sin affects the way you read the Bible or if your sin is all consuming than you will not read it at all. The Word of God will convict you of your sin.
Develop a plan to read the Word of God everyday. Most Christians read 3 or more chapters a day.
God has given you wisdom from the Holy Spirit to teach you His Word.
If you are unsure about a Scripture pray and see what God is telling you. If you still are unsure ask a mature Christian like your pastor or an elder.
The most important thing that you can do is pray for Gods wisdom to walk the Christian life.

"How does sin affect the way we read God's Word?"
It can make us miss what is being stated. We lose the vital message.
"What do we need to do to make sure that we are reading God's Word as He would want us to? "
Ask Him for guidance and understanding.
"What has God given us to help us do this?"
The Holy Spirit.
"If we are unsure as to what someone has said about a certain passage in the Bible, what can we do to make sure what was said is true?"
Prayer, commentary, other passages that would help to explain the verse in question, and a concordance.
You by your questions are behaving like someone who doesn't study, and doesn't really care.

if you re a christian you will help you understand the bible thru the Holy Spirit who is a seal of your redemption. He will be your great teacher of the Bible
He will show what God want you to know from the bible
Just read it and the contemplate then ask God for the understanding
1)Sin is a barrier to your fellowship with God
fellowship is a relational connection with God
when you sin you loose fellowship but you dont loose you position as a child of God
senerio
you did something to disappoint you parents you loose the fellowship with your parents. Untill you come clean by admit that you have disappoint them to gain back the fellowship
1st John 1:9
2) Just ask God for understanding upon what you read and insight
3)the Holy Spirit
4)Go back and read it in the contect of the Chapter or paragraph

Sadly, most people, including christians "twist" much of the Bible to justify whatever sin or lifestyle that they are currently in. God gave us His spirit- the Holy Spirit to guide us and teach us what His work the Bible is about. Without the Holy Spirit, the Bible can be pretty confounding to those who arew just looking, and not seeking God with their WHOLE Heart.
Ask a pastor or christian friend you know is strong in the Word.

When I read God's word, I rely on the Holy Spirit, which is the Gift from God who helps us understand His Word. He(the Holy Spirit) is our Helper. Scripture defines Scripture. In other words, you can check a certain passage in the Bible with other passages.

You can't find the answers to ANY of these questions in the Bible. These questions do not come from the Bible, they are religious propaganda. I'm sorry, but that's just the way I see it. Just read God's word if it is right for you. Plain and simple. You will know what it means in your heart, and that, my dear, you WILL get.
EDIT>>>(Although I can see how Self Imposed Nonsense could get in the way of reading anything clearly. Maybe that answers question #1)

The Holy Spirit will guide you into all truth (John 16:13).
The Holy Spirit will draw you to repentance (Romans 2:4).
Its up to you to be honest with God and want to find the truth.
The Bible says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God (the Bible), the more you study the more you will not only understand, but also hear directly from God in a personal way.
Try reading the New Testament first, especially the Gospel of John and Romans.
And never forget...God loves you and has a purpose for you.

That's what is so beautiful about having a personal relationship with God Himself.
Pray and ask Him to be your instructor when you read the bible.
If you hear someone say something that just doesn't fit with you, then again, pray and ask God to take you to where it is written, or to show you in His word what He really has to say about a certain matter.
Yes, God does care enough about every single person well enough to do that for any one who asks for His help.
Bottom line is, if you truly want to know the truth, God will see to it that you hear it for yourself.

My answer to you would be, read the Bible and study it, the Bible is the truth to God's believe and his will. Jehovah is God's real name and it says it in the Bible. And Jesus is the son of Jehovah, he died for our sins. So we can be saved, only if we trust, follow, and have faith in him, Jesus is the only way to Jehovah. Follow the Bible and it will tell you the truth about Jehovah and Jesus. We were born with sin and the wages for sin is death. And we were born with free will, a choice, but we have to try to follow Jehovah's will. So we should repent and be saved, to be with our Father in that everlasting life for eternity. Which will be so beautiful. I, myself, is looking forward to that day. I will be so glorious. God Bless all of you!!!!!!

God will teach you with his Holy Spirit
But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. 34 No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, ‘Know the LORD,’ for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more.”
