i hope people can see how imperfect our country is and just cause were americans doesnt make us superior. And before you crucify me for this their are plenty of soverign peace loving countrys and dont tell me to move there because this is my home and i bet any super patriotic person having been born in another country would support that country dont act like you are the truest form of americans we are all sinners for what we allow our country to do, our own leaders are crooks and pigs this summer i heard a cnn broadcast on a leader who watched child pornography the ultimate vialator of all innocence. you dont have to be a genious to know the worlds no perfect and let it be known the way you act around the people immediately around you shapes them making us all responsible for eachother.my fellow countrymen holds no borders we are one people.evil leaders just come along at a bad time rbut we helped create the evil in that person. take responsibility.take action

Does he realize the devastation his family and loved ones will feel when they knock on the door to inform them of his death? Ask him, if he lives, how he would like to be missing limbs, have useless limbs, be blind, be brain injured? These are just a few things this foolish boy needs to consider. All for a lost cause, an illegal, immoral war.

Thats why you have a choice to join the military. Now I dont know if your grandfather was drafted or wanted to join himself. Very few ppl talk about what happend while they were at war...wether it be WWII or the war now. What we do is not a waste of time how do you think it makes us feel to hear somebody like you talk in this way. Your talking a lot of what if's. You should be grateful that there are ppl out there that risk their lives for you...because if we all thought like you where would our country be today? "dead in a box" having regrets? Thats not how our Soldiers think..they are proud and feel priveledged to have served their country. They know and there family knows the risks. They are not numbers to me. My husband is in Iraq right now..and Im very proud of him.....and I may not agree with all of the decisions our president makes but being in the Army myself I focus on the mission and how many ppl we have helped in Iraq and Afghanistan....Are you gonna base all your views from watching CNN..they only put the bad news....They hardly ever put the good things were doing. In fact they never do!!

When you join you take an oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. It has nothing to do with the flag, mom or apple pie. Nor does it involve any pledge to defend those who believe that service is reinforced by "red necks" making decisions for all.
I spent 25 years in the Navy. Eight of them with Fleet Marine Forces. The one thing which gave me comfort and solace was that oath I took. If I had to stop and contemplate being in a position to defend those who consider me to be brainwashed and wasting my time, I probably would have quit and joined all the other navel-contemplators at the nearest Starbucks. Fortunately I didn't. To paraphrase President John Kennedy: "When people ask me what good I did in my lifetime I can proudly say I served in the United States Navy".

Joining is about protecting your country, our way of life, your family...my family.

Do you like having to stand in a 3 hour security line when you fly?

Soon enough there will be a change of leadership here and things are going to be different. Going National Guard is a great choice but its a challenging lifestyle being both civlian and soldier.

Being a soldier is only one of the things in life that requires bravery and contributes to our society. Others are always making decisions for us, but you might help us since you seem to think about the larger picture and that is a handy thing to do because life has many complex issues.

Join the Air Force. Less dangerous than infantry. But everyone of them that is like your friend, are brave and I bow down to them in respect. Thinking he's an idiot is really stupidity on your part. I think that they have the toughest job.

What do you owe? Nothing. You've been given freedom. Countless men and women have fought and/or died for your right to make your own decisions and think whatever you like.

Doing someone else's bidding for something that you don't believe in doesn't repay some imagined debt.

Be yourself. Live *your* life. Use your freedom to make *your* choices. That's what honors those who've sacrificed.

you can always move to cuba, dont waste your time in this free country with the freedoms my sons and husband and their brothers and sisters in arms fight for. wouldnt want someone so ungrateful living here and wasting their time behind that keyboard, using freedoms like speech and an education that it took to learn how to use it to speak out against what they do! talk to your grandfather and uncle, i bet either one would be glad to educate you! if not, i know quite a few vets that would do the job, well i might add!

you have a very, very selfish attitude!!! your grandfather may have chosen not to share the bad things with you, be thankful, but i bet he would be sick to hear you talk the way you are! i know my grandfather would. he cried when he heard my son would be deploying, just weeks before he passed away, but he told me, he couldnt be more proud than to know Mike would be serving his country! hours before he died, he didnt know anyone, except my son, and when he walked in the room he called him by name, and told him how proud he was of his choices! so when you talk about being brainwashed and propaganda, that would be the jerks talking trash behind a keyboard with the freedoms our soldiers fight for!

if you dont like our country, and think its not up to "your standards" GET OUT OF HERE, nobody wants you here, If I had an option to let you or an illegal alien live in this country, I would chose that freakin' illegal alien you worthless person. shut up and quit posting and go to a hippy convention and write little poems about how sad you are.
