Jamie S- There are now online courses & I am sure the hospital offers one.
There are many, many independent childbirth educators who do not advertise. I am sure there are some in your area!

BTW, to any who answer:
I DO NOT NEED a CBE or a class.
I am a DOULA & was interested in taking a poll, to see what women are most interested in.

We wanted to take a Bradley course, but it's a 12 week class, 2 hours per week, an hour away, and we just can't swing that with our work schedules. We have just been reading as many books as we can on it and watching videos.

I would take the hospital course, and contact your local community college to see what they may be offering. You also might want to consider taking a First-Aid and CPR course. Finally, almost every major video store chain rents childbirth and care videos for free.

Just because you dont want to spend hundreds on a private class, does not mean that it is "generic" to take a hospital one.

You have no right to judge people on somthing like that.

Leave it to a doula to do so.
