Excellent question! I can assure you the men did not go unpunished by the Lord.
In this region they seem to think it is all of the womans fault.
I don't see how, since the women are clothe from the top of their heads to the bottom of their feet, with only the eyes exposed.
This is still praticed today in most Muslim Countries.

All the more reason why Jesus spoke against the religious leaders of that time.
If they had thrown out the man too, I still think Jesus would have spared them, as you recall, Jesus never said that the law was wrong, He wanted to show them however that they had abused the law.
As far as we know what Jesus was writing in the dirt was the name of the man she had been caught with...

Because every one of the men that brought her before Jesus were guilty of being with her. When Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground. He was writing the names of all of them that had been with this woman. That is why not one of them dared to throw the first stone, when Jesus said let him who is without sin throw the first stone.

Yes, I agree. But the jest is that no one could "cast a stone" because of the sin in their own lives, and Jesus forgave her and told her to go and sin no more.
