Is Jesus God? The Only Alternatives
Is Jesus God? Many people have dealt with this "spiritual" dispute by intellectually accepting Jesus as a great man, great teacher, or great prophet. However, Jesus and His inspired followers didn't mince words when they declared Him to be God (John 10:30-38, Matthew 16:13-17, Mark 14:61-64, John 14:6, Hebrews 1:8, Colossians 1:16, John 12:40-41 [quoting Isaiah 6:1-10]). Therefore, any type of intellectual compromise calling Jesus a "good man" is logically inconsistent. Why? Because there are really only three legitimate alternatives for the identity of Jesus Christ. He is either a liar, a lunatic or our Lord and God. Since Jesus claimed to be God, His claims are either true or false. If false, He must have been a liar, deliberately misleading the multitudes. Or, He was a lunatic, sincerely believing Himself to be God, when in reality He was just a man. However, if Jesus was a "good man," as most people now agree, how then could He be both good and crazy, or good and a liar? There is only one logically consistent alternative - He must have been telling the truth. In addition to the logical inconsistency, the remarkable historical, archaeological and manuscript evidence shows that Jesus was neither a liar nor a lunatic. Again, the only position left is that His claim is true. Jesus is Lord and God.

The only real argument that remains, is that Jesus was just a legend or myth. There is little likelihood that Jesus' claims are legend. There just wasn't enough time for any legendary development of the story to replace what really happened. For instance, we now know that the Gospels were written 30 to 50 years after the crucifixion of Jesus. More dramatically, we now date some of the early Christian creeds, proclaiming the life, death and resurrection of Jesus, to 3 to 10 years after His crucifixion. This includes Paul's letters to the Corinthians, Romans and Galatians. Finally, if Jesus' claim of deity was a myth, the early Jewish opponents of Christianity would surely have presented the fact that these claims never happened. Unlike modern skeptics, the Jewish rabbis never denied that Jesus made the claim that He was God. Instead, they called Him a liar, and tried Him for blasphemy.

Is Jesus God? The Only Answer
Is Jesus God? Once you have asked all your questions, weighed all the evidence, and tested all the arguments, you will ultimately be confronted with this question. In Mathew 16:15, Jesus put it this way, 'But who do you say that I am?' One of His disciples, Simon Peter, replied: 'You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.' What is your reply?

Jesus never said - in so many words, "I am God" but there are numerious references for those who honestly seek with an open mind. Some examples: John 1:1-3; 14:8-9; Hebrews 1:3. Remember Christianity is based on faith. (Romans 1:17) God doesn't need to prove Himself. (Romans 1:17-18) but He is there for all who honestly seek Him. (Luke 11:9)

It doesn't. All those that say it does are confused by the teaching of men or not reading the bible.

Those that say Jesus says he is I AM, sorry, doesn't say that. I AM is one, YHWH. Jesus is not YHWH. I AM is the G_D of Abraham. Jesus even states, all worship goes to the Father. Romans 10:9 alone clearly shows they are separate. Isaiah clearly shows YHWH stating He will NOT give his Glory nor Praise to another. Then Jesus comes along and people thing they should follow him. Guess they choose to ignore what G_D said.

Isaiah 42:8
I am YHWH : that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.

Those that say Jesus is G_D are just Jesuits yet don't realize it.

He never says that, although he does acknowledge to Peter that he is the Son of God. The Old Testament is full of prophesies that Jesus was believed to have fulfilled, and those prophesies are where the fuller explanations are found, claiming that the Messiah (Son of God) and God are one and the same.

Exodus 3:14 (Old Testament) - God says "I AM who I AM" -
John 8:58 (New Testament) - Jesus says "Before Abraham was, I AM" in reference to Himself.

John 20:28 - Jesus accepts Thomas' statement "My Lord and my God!" Literally, "the Lord of me and the God of me!" (in Greek, "Ho Kurios mou kai ho Theos mou").

Matt. 28:20 - Jesus said He is with us always, even unto the end of the world. Only God is omnipresent.

John 5:18 - Jesus claimed to be God. The Jews knew this because Jesus called God His Father and made Himself equal to God. This is why Jesus was crucified.

John 8:23 - Jesus says that He is not of this world. Only God is not of this world.

John 10:38; 14:10 - "the Father is in me and I am in the Father" means the Father and Son are equal.

John 12:45 - Jesus says, "He who sees Me sees Him who sent Me." God the Father is equal to God the Son.

Rev. 1:8 - God says He is the "Alpha and the Omega." In Rev. 22:13, Jesus also says He is the "Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the beginning and the end." The only possible conclusion one can reach is that Jesus is equal to the Lord God.

Matt. 14:33 - the apostles who were in the boat worshiped Jesus without rebuke.

Matt. 28:9 - Jesus' disciples took His feet and worshiped Him without rebuke.

Matt. 28:17 - Jesus' disciples saw Him and then worshiped Him.

John 10:30 - Jesus says, "I and the Father are one."
They are equal. The Jews even claimed Jesus made Himself equal to God. Jesus' statement in John 14:28,
"the Father is greater than I," cannot contradict John 10:30
(the Word of God is Never in conflict).
Jesus' statement in John 14:28 simply refers to His human messianic role as servant and slave, which He, and not the Father or the Holy Spirit, undertook in the flesh.

Jesus (PBUH) did not say to worship him, the request was for humans to follow him!

The fundamental teachings of Moses, Jesus and Mohammed (pbut) are the same. The first commandment given to Moses (pbuh) was the Shama or Kalima, as Muslims would have it.

That Shama is:

De 6:4 “Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God is One LORD”

Same thing was repeated by Jesus (pbuh), when a scribe came to him and asks him which is the first commandment of all? Jesus replied:

MARK 12:29 And Jesus answered him, the first of all the commandments [is], Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is One Lord:

In the Medina some Christians came to Mohammed (pbuh) and asked him, what is your concept of God? At this moment God sent a revelation:

112:1 Say: He, God, is One.

If we read these verses in Hebrew or Arabic, the root word ‘One’ in Hebrew is “Ikhad” and in Arabic it is “Ahad”. Aramaic, Arabic and Hebrew are sister languages. Therefore, Moses said “Ikhad”, Jesus said “Ikhad” and Mohammed said “Ahad”. Meaning “One”.

If we are to believe in “ONE” God, than why God sent Moses (pbuh) with ‘Judaism’, Jesus (pbuh) with ‘Christianity’ and Mohammed (pbuh) with ‘Islam’?

Judaism:
If we are to follow the religion known as “Judaism” than this religion is not mentioned anywhere in the Law (Torah) (Old Testament) or Talmud or any other scriptures claimed by Jews to be the word of God. Nor did Moses (pbuh) in their sacred scriptures told his followers that their religion is “Judaism”. Where does this word “Judaism” comes from? Palestine was divided into tribes, one of them known as “Judea”. Therefore, the religion followed by the children of Juda in the land of Judea is known as “Judaism”.

Christianity:
If we are to follow the religion known as “Christianity” than this religion is not mentioned anywhere in the Bible. Nor did Jesus (pbuh) told his followers that your religion is known as “Christianity”. There are 73 books in the Catholic Bible and 66 Books in the Protestant Bible, But no word such as Christianity is found in them. The word “Christianity” is actually a derivation of people who after the ascension of Jesus (pbuh), accepted him as their Messiah. It was first used in Antioch.
Acts 11: 25-26 “Then Barnabas went to Tarsus to look for Saul, and when he found him, he brought him to Antioch. So for a whole year Barnabas and Saul met with the church and taught great numbers of people. The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.
If Christians believe that Jesus (pbuh) was their Messiah and the Bible is the word of God, than they must realize that no where does God says in the Bible to be Christians or no where does Jesus say in the Bible to be Christians.

Islam:

The Arabic word Islam is derived from the root word Salam or Shalom in Hebrew, meaning peace. The word “Islam” means Submission to God. Therefore, Muslims are those who submit themselves to God. This word is not only found in the sacred scripture of Muslims known as Koran, It is also found there in the Bible.

JAMES 4:7 Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

PSALMS 66:3 Say unto God, How terrible [art thou in] thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee. {(The Pagan Arabs were also enemies of God, but later on they submitted themselves to God (Became Muslims)}

Of course, the word Islam or Muslim is mentioned many times in the Koran. Like in this verse:

3:20 But if they dispute with you, say: I have submitted myself entirely to God and (so) every one who follows me; and say to those who have been given the Book and the unlearned people: Do you submit yourselves? So if they submit then indeed they follow the right way; and if they turn back, then upon you is only the delivery of the message and God sees the servants.
Therefore if we had the chance of meeting Moses (pbuh) and would ask him, what is your religion (way of life)? He would say my religion is Submission to God (Islam). If we would be alive till the second coming of Jesus (pbuh) and would ask him, what is your religion? He would say my religion is Submission to God (Islam).
MATTHEW 4:10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
If he would say I am a Christian, we will ask him, which church do you belong to? Or do you accept the extra 7 books in Roman Catholic Bible or not?

Now the difference between Torah, Gospel and Quran is of Law. God gives Laws according to the situation. For example:

Colossians 1:13 Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:
1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
1:15 WHO IS THE IMAGE OF THE INVISIBLE GOD, the firstborn* of every creature:
1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
1:18 And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;

*firstborn: pre-eminence in rank more than to priority in time. This can be shown in passages where the term 'firstborn' is used of the pre-eminent son who was not the eldest, e.g. Psalm 89:27, where David is called 'firstborn' although he was actually the youngest son.

Some cults teach that Jesus was God's first Creation, and that Christ then Created the universe we know. This is a verse cults use to support their false doctrine.

("Revelation 3:14 And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;")

This verse also.

("John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. ")

They say, "See, he was in the beginning with God."

They will even use this verse.

("Proverbs 8:22 The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. 23 I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was.")

_________

Now for the Truth, from God's word, let's compare Scripture with Scripture.

If you only read this verse, you might think it was talking about Jesus, and that he was set up.

But if you read the chapter, you will realize who or what it is talking about.

("Proverbs 8:12 I wisdom dwell with prudence, and find out knowledge of witty inventions.")

Wisdom, not Christ. The whole chapter is about wisdom personified. To make it even more clear that it is not Christ, wisdom is spoken of as female.

("Proverbs 8:2 She standeth in the top of high places,...")

Let's see what the Bible says about Christ.

("Colossians 1:16 For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:") ("John 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.")

He created everything that was created, and nothing was created by anyone but him. If Christ made all things then he must have existed before everything that was created. ("Colossians 1:17 And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.") He is the one and only Creator. If he created all things then did he create himself? No, he can't be a created being. He existed before the beginning. He is from Everlasting. ("Micah 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.") Jehovah God said: ("Isaiah 44:6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.") Jesus Christ said: ("Revelation 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.") ("Revelation 1:18 Fear not; I am the first and the last: I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.")

"...CHRIST JESUS...being in the FORM OF GOD, thought it not robbery to be EQUAL WITH GOD: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."

--Philippians 2:5-8

"I and my Father are ONE."

--Jesus Christ, John 10:30

"But unto the SON he saith, 'Thy throne, O GOD, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom'...And, 'Thou, LORD, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands.'"
