Over the past two months I became friends with this girl in physics class. She always makes an effort to talk to me and be nice, and even made me a cd for me a while back after she asked me if I liked a band. She also copied notes for me and asked me my number recently, so we could study together. When we got done studying and I was walking to my car she stopped and picked me up and we talked in her car. We went and got coffee at school the next day after she waited a few mins for me to finish our exam. She also dropped out of her lab project group to be in mine after I couldn't get in hers. She asked me to goto church with her recently, and we've studied together outside of school and I've hung out at her house a few more times. In passing the other day she said didn't want a relationship when talking about this guy from church that called her. We hang out at her house at least once a week (I have to ask her though), and she invited me to go w/ her to a christmas thing at church.

She's very much into christianity which I can deal with since I'm an agnostic leaning towards christianity, but I dunno if she would be very tolerant of some of the stuff I like - she didn't seem to enjoy me watching family guy at her house, even though she said "no offense if you like it".
Plus, when I invited her out to eat the other night, she brought her sister (whom I've met before)...which I thought meant she wasn't interested in just being with me yet.
She drove me to my car again the other day after we studied, but she still hasn't said anything about becoming more, at all. I don't want to confront her until I know for sure she likes me (and likes me for who I am), since I don't want to get attached and take this farther than it should. Is it normal for a girl to go through all this to get to know some guy she barely talks to in class? nobody usually makes the effort.

It sounds to me that she is only interested in a platonic relationship. It may be because of her religious beliefs and the absence of yours, or maybe you just need to give her a little more time. If you give it (just for instance) three months time and nothing changes, it may be time for a talk.
