I am in a similar situation, and all I have to say is, He will eventually come around and see what he has done. He is in a vicious cycle that makes him like this. It will all be alright though, and he will come around soon.

You need to learn how to keep a low profile, and how to express yourself without getting into an argument or going for the low-blows.
If you go against the grain, you will experience the splinters. Welcome to real life.
Your parents provide everything for you... home, food, clothes and the opportunity for an education. You just need to hold up your end by keeping your grades up, cleaning up after yourself, do whatever little chores are asked of you... and not being a brat. You will notice that the more you resist, the harder things get... you might as well hold up your end to begin with.

It sounds like your dad is giving you tough love. I think that he'll come around. You may not think so, but I'm sure he knows what he's done and feels bad about it, but his pride is getting in the way of admitting it to you, and making him act foolishly.
