Okay, I asked a couple of questions here, and I have gotten some good answers (thank you), some off the wall answers (okay ... um ... thank YOU) and some downright nasty, self-righteous answers as well. If you think I'm wrong, am a big sinner, so be it. The fact of the matter is, every Christian deals with doubt at some point. Every Christian deals with things they thought were God's will, but things did not turn out the way they had been led to believe they received direction for, and it causes confusion. If you say you have not experienced this, chances are you are not being honest in this forum, or it just hasn't happened to you YET. Whoo hoo. Of course I am not silly enough to believe that I should hope in man, but I have put my hope in God regarding some fundamental things in my life, and I am still standing on the curb waiting for the freaking taxi. If you don't like that I question, or make a "thesis" out of Christianity, that is a personal issue. So, wouldn't you be annoyed?

No, I'm not Professor Cuddles III, and I don't believe that was an actual answer. Try actually answering questions instead of asking them as a means of a response.

wow.....I give you my support, you seem to be one of the rare few that actually question your religion without necessarily abandoning it, it DOES show you have good strength of character....

You seems to be angry. Let us talk like a good girl.
This is an open forum. Everybody can contribute his bit. If
his knowledge is rudimentry or his mentel level is not as high, this does not preclude him to respond. Because everybody in his own opinion, holds himself in good esteem. Otherwise there would be nobody in this world who does not know everything.
May be one person is religious, but he may not have exposure to problems involving intellect and intution. People
of other religions like me, should not advise, but everybody
is the same on the human level and it is against humanity not to offer help, if one can. This gives you the opportunity to look
at your problem from a broad spectrum.
Truth is manifest in many different forms. From 7000 years of
recorded history, truth is not limited to one community. But the fact of the matter is that even before Moses, there were
prophets and even after Jesus there was atleast one prophet, the one with the latest revelations and information f rom God. So why not give it a try. Because if you fail, you could always go back to Christianity.
But just think. God did not made you a cow or a sheep to do just what you are told. Intellect and intution are the best gifts of God Almighty. Before believing something critically examine it. That is how you will start seeing things in their
correct perspective.

Nothing wrong with having doubts. Moses doubted when God told him that he was to deliver the Hebrews from Egypt. Others in the Bible show their doubts. One guy told Jesus, "Lord, I believe - help me with my unbelief". A person who has doubts will turn out to be a stronger Christian in the long run because that person will take the time and effort to get answers to their questions. Are you studying the Bible? Do you spend time every day with God on a one-to-one basis? Talk to Him as you would to your best friend. Tell Him your doubts, fears, desires, hopes straight up- not in some "holy language", but just like you talk every day. "Ask and you shall be answered; seek and you shall find; knock and the door shall be opened to you." That's a promise. God's not a genie in a lamp where you make demands on Him and He has to do your will. He's God and you're not. "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart."

Meditation is the answer the only true answer you will get
These are some of the benefits of meditation:
1.Improved concentration - A clear mind makes you more productive, especially in creative disciplines like writing.
2.Less bothered by little things - Do you sometimes allow yourself to get upset by little things? It is the nature of the mind to magnify small things into serious problems. Meditation helps us detach. We learn to live in the here and now, rather than worrying about the past or future. We do not worry about meaningless things, but see the bigger picture.
3.Better Health - There have been numerous studies pointing to the health benefits of meditation. The reason is that meditation reduces stress levels and alleviates anxiety. If we can reduce stress, many health benefits follow.
4.Knowledge of Self - Meditation enables us to have a deeper understanding of our inner self. Through meditation we can gain a better understanding of our life’s purpose.

I know what you're talking about and you're right. If any Christian out there says he's never experienced doubt I'd find it hard to believe. But for me, after all the rough experiences I've had in church, the hypocrites, the manipulations, the basic teaching about Jesus's love still stands true. You can't count on ANY man, any Pastor, any preacher. It all comes down to you and your relationship with God. I really think that is what he wants to teach us. The bible tells us that God is a jealous God, and he wants our focus to be on Him, not our church, not our works, and certainly not on man. Keep going, and don't give up your faith, God Bless.

Putting your hope in God is wisdom. Man is a big disappointed.
I'm Christian and except my Christian fellowship, I had rather be with my little dogs who are sincere in the love they give me when I give it back.
This time of the year the people are exceptionally rude and nasty. This is not how we are to Celebrate the Birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. Sorry just add to add that little bit.

It takes alot of honesty on your part to admit that. It'll probably get more annoying to you as you search for your answers, but you should be proud of the fact that you are wise enough to question things. When you find your truth, it will be because you questioned and searched with due diligence. It will become more than a truth for you, it will be a conviction of the heart. Hats off to you for thinking things through!

You make some very good points. Yes, every christian no matter how great their faith has had some kind of doubt- TRUE!
But I will say this, the only one true God is the father of Jesus.

I think all you can do is put your faith in God. Are you getting frustrated waiting for something in particular to happen in your life? Like no matter what you do, it's just not happening? I have experienced that before. It's a matter of patience...when I get really frustrated, I ask God to please give me answers...I can't stand it anymore... I have done that. Or if something "bad" happens I try to endure and work through it...

you have to grow a thick skin to hang out in r&s. no matter what kind of question you ask you will get people insulting you. just ignore them and read the answers of the people who are really answering, even if the answers aren't agreeing with you. also, make sure you have a good sense of humor as a lot of people like to joke around with no harm intended. also, always use the spell check!

As long as you have been on here and as many questions as you have asked you should be aware by now that not everyone on R&S is Christian.
Most of the non-believers here think all questions are targets for rude remarks. You have to learn to ignore these answers and to pick out the ones who sincerely make the effort to answer the question truthfully.
