Yea, there are examples of older religions disrespecting the new ones, such as Catholocism disrespecting the Protestants but usually newer religions have to curse-out and defame the older ones.
I myself, am a Jew. In our synagogues on Saturday, we pray, read the Torah, the rabbi makes his sermon of the weekly portion and ties it to life lessons. In no way, are other religions, or politics even discussed. One because these are mundane matters, and two because we don't say anything about other religions.

But you see undercover tapes from Mosques, and the Imam lambasts both Jews and Christians to go to hell as unbelieving infidels and so on...
I also had the oppurtunity to attend a Lutheran Church service when I stayed the night at my friend's house. Constantly, again, the pastor spoke about Jews in a derogatory manner from the Gospels, which I found uncomfortable, but no one seemed to notice around me. I asked my friend about it and he was like, "what do you mean?"

Is it cause they are trying to say, "Yes our religion is a more perfect, complete form of the previous?" That's what I think.

And by the way, How much of Lutheran views' on Jews dependent on Luther's book, On Jews and their Lies?

Its the game in commercialism. Religions only survive due to money and the money making aspect.. Without the customers, who would make the contributions.

All is right and fair in religion if you win members OK

I'm thinking along similar lines as you - newer ones believe themselves to be a better, more complete version of the older ones, and one must make sure that everyone knows that so they don't inadvertently fall into the trappings of the older, less correct one.

I'm thinking also that what you heard at the Lutheran church was probably about the Pharisees in Jesus' time. Jesus felt that this particular group of Jews was too focused on following every law completely, but in the meantime lost the spiritual aspect of the laws.

Okay, I think a better question is, why does anyone have to rag on anyone? And the answer is, because we're human, and we're idiots.
Now, apply this to your question. We, as humans and idiots, seems to find it easier to categorize everyone, so that you can rag on other people more efficiently, and also have people back you up, and religion is a handy way to do so.
Not that I'm anti-religion. I just think that the concept of religion is misused by us, the poor, misguided, essentially stupid humans.
Sorry, but the truth hurts.
Cheers, mate!

Catholics dont disrespect the Protestants, its the other way around, being the Catholic Church has existed since 33AD.In our Catholic Mass we study the Word of God, nothing is ever said about other religions in any way.

I dont like when people disrespect each other it is wrong and childish. I consider the Jewish my brothers and sisters, we are all united with God.

Shalom my friend

Well first you must realize that the early Christians WERE Jews....and the people they were talking about in a demeaning manner were the pharisees who were criticizing them and the other Jews who were trying to kill them and in most cases succeeded.
