Companies of what?
They go by letters of the Phonetic alphabet. So next in line would be Echo, Foxtrot, Golf, Hotel, India, Juliet etc.

they are just the phonetic alphabet.. however most ocmpanies are within a battalion, and there is usually not much than 5 or six even this is oversized already. thus probably echo and Foxtrot could be seen. theoretically you could proceed through the phonetic alphabet down to the zulu
that is why the company is not just Alpha. but Alpha Co, 303rd Btn for example. there is plenty of alpha companies in the armed forces, but the combination with their battallion makes the name unique.

If it is a battalion of three rifle companies like those in the Marines, you will find the following:
Alfa
Bravo
Charlie
Delta
Echo
Foxtrot
Gulf
Hotel
India
Kilo
Lima
Mike.
You will notice I spelled it "Gulf", not "Golf". That's because in the old days "Golf" was an order sent by radio for an artillery unit to fire another barrage using the same azimuth and range.

In the Fleet Mariens we have
1stBtl-Alpha,Bravo,Charlie,Weapons,and H&S
2nd Btl-Echo,Fox,Golf,Weapons,and H&S
3rdBtl-India,Kilo,Lima,Weapons,H&S
Delta and Hotel companies are more of a rear company for when the btl is deployed.Insted of dropping who stays back to another btl they keep them in one of the rear companies until they can be sent to rejoin their btl's
Not to sure about the non-infantry companies.

They go by letters of the Phonetic Alphabet which means that Echo would be the next one.
