I studied religion and philosophy in college.....it isn't for you if you want to make a ton of money.....I minored in history and got a 4.0, but no one cares about your minor or your grades. I went on to get my MDiv, but then left the church. This would work well in a faculty setting, as a teacher, a preacher or other religious leader...you can go into youth ministry....I think I would get a minor in business or marketing just so you can show some experience with actually leading and not just studying the arts....good luck!!

You can write books about world religions. I don't know what specific minor, but perhaps an English minor would be good. Read on your own; learn as much about various religions as you can. Read the writings that come from the religions themselves. I don't know how easy it would be to earn a living this way, but you might see what colleges that offer courses in world religions want you to study. Good luck! Be discerning. They all SOUND good. So take some courses in logic and that type of thing. Ask yourself whether they will satisfy the deepest needs of the spirit, especially the need to know where you are going after you die.

There is a world within you, and there is a world outside.
There is a vast universe within you, and there is a vast universe outside.
If you understand these, you will come to know yourself.
Knowing yourself is where you begin.
Understanding the religions will come later.

Some choose to study the religions first and often get confused. Look at the state of the humans in the world and see if you might agree?
Those that choose to find out who they are first, will come to an understanding of all the religions.

When you know yourself you can do anything after college that the human mind can conceive of.

"Peace be always with you."

Why study it in school where you have a unemployable moron yakking in your ear all day about things he doesn't know learning his prejudicial point of view a study of this kind won't pay well enough to bother in the real world { unless you open your own church } . So track down the works of all the religions you can and sit and read them in your spare time !

Most people who study religion become priests of their chosen path. Personally, I don't know any other way to make money off such a major unless you want to teach.

Time for the shameless advertising: have you studied anything on Asatru?

inspired, fairly examining somebody like Bede Griffiths' reviews in India, the place he reported he discovered "the different a million/2 of his soul". yet many, many others. whilst human beings prefer to truly seek for what's prevalent and necessary, then the alterations seem incredibly small and meaningless. "as quickly as you're making a sect, you protest against prevalent brotherhood." ~ Swami Vivekananda EDIT: mutually as following up on yet another question, i grew to become into reminded of this massive quote via Bishop Tutu: "God isn't dissatisfied that Gandhi grew to become into no longer a Christian, by using fact God isn't a Christian! All of God's toddlers and their diverse faiths help us to realize the immensity of God."
