Because I BELIEVE that Jesus Christ is who He said He is. I believe He is God in the flesh, and that He came and died on the cross so that we may be saved. Jews don't believe that the Messiah has even come yet. They are still waiting.

One is born a "Jew" this is an ethnic designation much like being Irish or English. However, there is a religious part to this as well. Jewish religion is based in what gentiles call the Old Testament with the belief in one God. The Jews continue to look for their promised Messiah. According to Old testament teachings, the Jews are the chosen of God.
Christians are of all ethnic backgrounds including Jewish. We believe that the Messiah the Jewish people are awaiting has already come, that he is Jesus, the Christ, who's birth we celebrate Dec 25th.

I was born to gentile parents. But in fact some Christians are Jewish. It may surprise you but some people born Jewish have accepted Christ as the Messiah.
I do not understand the purpose of your questions in this area. You sound quite confused to me. At first right after Christ arose almost all of the first Christians were Jewish. So It is quite possible to be both Jewish and Christian.
May God bless you and open your eyes.

We sort of are due to the fact that Jesus was Jewish, the Jews are God's chosen people and the Old and New Testament were written by Jews. A couple of small changes at the beginning and we Christians would have been a sect of Judaism. Good point.

Good question, dear one! My father was Jewish and my mother didn't hold any particular belief. They shooed us kids out the door on Sunday mornings so they could have a quiet breakfast together. We walked a quarter mile to the nearest church, which happened to be a Christian church. I never missed a Sunday in 10 straight years. When I was 16, I asked Jesus into my heart and life because I knew He was the Messiah and only a relationship with Him could fulfill the deep longing I had to be close to God.
God bless!

Because christians believe that Jesus was the messiahs and in the jewish belief this would mean the end of the world as we know it (correct me, if i'm wrong).
It looks like the world still exists in the non paradise way, so that would be quite illogical.

I am not a Christian, but I believe the difference is that Christians accept Jesus as the Messiah and Jewish people do not, although they both believe in the same Old Testament God.
(It amazes me how many people are participating in a religion and know nothing about it...they don't even know why they worship the way they do. How can you treat your spiritual self so lightly??)

I considered converting to Judaism at one point in my life, and I attended classes at my synagogue for about 2 years.
What I learned was that fundamental Christianity had very little that was different from Judaism philosophically, but we did have one important advantage: a messiah.
That's enough to say "no thanks" and still maintain respect for our similarities.
Judaism owns the heritage of Christianity; I recommend that all Christians get to know the religion the same way I did.

Because I was born Irish and am a Christian, Jewish is not a religion it's a nationality and some Jews do believe in Christ and are Christians.

Because neither my mom nor dad were Jewish or of Jewish ancestry and I think the Old Testament is a mostly mythological account.
