it looks like a tall cookie cutter usually metal....people on Iron Chef use it quite often for making tall layered things.

well yes it is a mold but I was looking to see if it had a specific name you know like spring form pans and tart molds.

Its a tin can, both ends removed. Try it your self and save some cash

I don't know how tall the one you're talking about is--but I have a tall metal tube and it just says "scalloped bread tube" from Pampered Chef---about 8 inches tall with a lid on either end. I use it to make "fancy" shaped bannana bread or other sweet bread.
