Christianity and Islam aren't very pleasant, that's probably why.

Paganism is probably losing ground (since in the third world people are converting to Christianity and Islam) although small pagan religions are gaining pretty well in the west although that's probably only because they are small.
Atheism and Agnosticism are quite big though and still seem to be growing very well in the first world. For the most part it's just a case of people deciding that religion is completely irrelevant to them and not bothering with it. The only large religion that is actually growing is Islam and that's merely because they are producing a lot of babies which won't last forever.
The important thing they've realised about spirituality is that it's useless.

In the West, atheism and agnosticism are growing, probably for cultural reasons. But outside Europe and North America, Christianity and (especially) Islam are growing quickly, again chiefly for cultural reasons. It is perhaps ironic that the development of secularism and humanism in the US and Europe tends to produce more extreme forms of religion (not just these two - also Judaism, Hinduism, etc.) as a reaction, closely tied to nationalist and political movements.

Well if milk chocolate is so great, why do some people like the stuff that's 70 and 80%? It's just different preferances.

Your quite wrong.Droves means lots, and that is not the case.We all possess free will so there will always a movement of people between faiths. Those who have found their faith, won't move.I am not a Christian, but do adhere to the Christian principal as Jesus taught. The problem with the religion is it doesn't answer enough for seekers, and thisis why people remain unsatisfied.

Don't know about Christianity, but statistics say that Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world.
Human is free to choose. They do not have to, and won't always, choose the right path.
But if they seriousely are seeking the right path, God will guide them.
The Quran says:
"for God guides onto a straight way him that wills [to be guided]."

They have learned that the choice they have made is the right path for them. Everyone has to do what feels the most right for him or herself.

People are becoming more knowledgable, and religion will eventually die out. Thus, priests will go out of business.

Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide [is] the gate, and broad [is] the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Because strait [is] the gate, and narrow [is] the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
