My friend has gotten pulled over 50 times roughly. And has received about 10-15 tickets. I don't think he has a shot with the background check being such a crucial part of the process of application.

Doubt it. A few traffic tickets over several years, fine. Being stopped 50 times and ticketed 15? We wouldn't hire him and I bet State Police wouldn't either

Yes, he can still be hired, but the better question is will he be? Probably not. Police work is a very competitive field. Why would a department want to hire such a liability when they have so many other qualified candidates to choose from. Your friend needs to find himself a desk job somewhere and get the led out of his foot.

The sad truth is no one cares if you are telling the truth. If the cop shows up you will be found guilty. Some person who spent 4 yrs in college and 4 more in law school to only preside over traffic court is not going to be a happy camper, and doesn't care to hear your story. I think the cops should have to prove you guilty as in photographic images. But its all about money and if you do not have the Pope as your wittiness - you are dead meat..

It would probably move him to the front of the line. Because from what I see around here the traffic laws do not apply to many of the police officers. They drive any speed they desire.

I think the state troopers will all have a very good laugh when they see his application.

He doesn't sound like law enforcement material.
