The word "dinosaurs" was not coined until the late 1800s. So of course you will not find it in the Bible, which was written thousands of years before that. The Bible uses the word "dragons" instead. That is what "dinosaurs" were called before the late 1800's.
There are over 60 references to dragons in the Bible. One of the most detailed is in the book of Job, chapter 40, where a creature called the Behemoth is described. It appears to be a large "bird hipped" type dinosaurs like the Raptor or T-Rex. It is stated there that they were created by God. Job also mentions the Leviathan, which was a sea/water creature that sounds very dinosaur like.
When you read the account of creation, there is not a single species of animal explicitly named. In fact some very common animals, like cats, are not mentioned at all in the Bible. It only speaks of God making first sea creatures, then birds (which scientist tell us the survive dinosaurs may have evolved into), then land animals, and finally man.
Even many evolutionist today favor a theory in which groups of animals suddenly "appear", exist for a time (often ages) and then are suddenly replaced by new life forms. This would fit with the Bible's teachings that God made the animals at separate times in different groups.
There are no dates given for when these creations happened. Nor any dates for how long it was between the creation of the different "groups". So it is entirely possible to fit dinosaurs into the Genesis creation.
But one other thing to consider....
If dinosaurs existed millions and millions of years ago, and were extinct before man came along, how did Job so accurately describe them? What was he basing them on? Their science was not advanced enough that they could have reconstructed the Behemoth from fossils....
Like it or not, what have a detailed description of a dinosaur from hundreds of years before "science" discovered them. Explain that with the evolutionary theory....

The Bible doesn't say that God created horses or spider monkeys, but this doesn't preclude the idea that He did so.
However, the Bible does describe the behemoth. Form the Book of Job, chapter 40:
15 Behold now behemoth, which I made with thee; he eateth grass as an ox.
16 Lo now, his strength [is] in his loins, and his force [is] in the navel of his belly.
17 He moveth his tail like a cedar: the sinews of his thighs are wrapped together.
18 His bones [are as] strong pieces of brass; his bones [are] like bars of iron.
19 He [is] the chief of the ways of God: he that made him can make his sword to approach [unto him].
20 Surely the mountains bring him forth food, where all the beasts of the field play.
21 He lieth under the shady trees, in the covert of the reed, and fens.
22 The shady trees cover him [with] their shadow; the willows of the brook compass him about.
23 Behold, he drinketh up a river, [and] hasteth not: he trusteth that he can draw up Jordan into his mouth.
24 He taketh it with his eyes: [his] nose pierceth through snares.
That sure sounds like a dinosaur to me ... but what do I know?

Genesis...
God created the animals before he created Man...
No earthly time period is mentioned as to how long went by until He created man.
I certainly believe that Dinosaurs existed. And I am somewhat a fundie Bible Christian.
Science is usually a stumbling block to religion because it is mans simple minded attempt at discovering what God has created long ago.
God Bless You.

It is to my knowledge that there is no mention of dinosaurs in the Bible. . . HOWEVER because the Bible describes certain things in a different way, How do we know that "A/The beast" isnt a dinosaur? We dont really know what kind of animal they were pertaining to. . . .It is obviously FACT that dino's existed.... again. No where in the bible do i know of that exactly states the term dinosaur..... Good question though good luck in finding this one out!
Happy holiday

In Genesis it says that God created all the beasts of the earth, all creatures of the sea and all birds. (My paraphrase), here are the real verses:
20And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
21And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
22And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
23And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
24And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
25And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
In my opinion a dinosaur was both a living creature, and a beast of the Earth, also some lived in the sea, so they would be among the living creatures of the sea... So what else do you want to know?

Genesis. Yet, the Bible isn't concerned with dinosaurs, because it is not a science book, rather it focuses on God and man's relationship with him through Christ's redemptive work in the Holy Spirit. God bless.

Psalms 74:14
12 But you, O God, are my king from of old;
you bring salvation upon the earth.
13 It was you who split open the sea by your power;
you broke the heads of the monster in the waters.
14 It was you who crushed the heads of Leviathan
and gave him as food to the creatures of the desert.

Why would a 9th century BC author talk about creating dinosaurs? They didn't even know dinosaurs existed - how could they write about it?
