No the Army won't fix your life and its not a right to join. Its a privilage thats earned by doing the right things. Get your GED and then go and talk with a recruiter. Stay out of trouble and don't get bad credit. Then maybe you can be all you can be. Merry Christmas.

Well... I don't mean to be a jackhole, but it would help if you knew the difference between "threw" and "through". Maybe you already know the difference and, being the internet, you decided to get lazy and not write a 100% correct question... then I stand corrected.
But assuming you don't know the difference.... I suggest you study hard to get the GED, and then to take the ASVAB. I think Army has lowered their entry rating to a score of 15...?. Good luck lady.

Check with your recruiter, but you may need your high school diploma. There may be ways around that, I don't know. All I know is that my daughter was very similar to you. She was going nowhere in one low paying, dead-end job after another. She decided to join up, and now she's career Army. They trained her as a medic and she's traveled the world, did a tour in Iraq, and now works in an Army hospital in the US. She met her husband in the Army, too. I think you should go for it! You WILL feel better about yourself, and do things you never dreamed you could do. Hoo-ah.

First, you need to get a high school education or equivalency. To be in any branch of the military, you need to basically a disciplined person. If you need to feel better about yourself, I don't think the Army or any branch of military is for you because when you are in boot camp and your CO starts yelling at you because your shoes aren't shiny enough or a dime doesn't bounce on your cot, what are you going to do? How about in the Navy when one has to wear dress blues in the engine room because your captain wants to make a good impression when the admiral does an inspection? Those engine rooms get REALLY hot, especially when you wear those dress blues! I know you weren't talking Navy, but these types of things really happen. You don't sound prepared for it. You need to toughen up more because seeking sympathy would only get you in more trouble.

Really, you're the only one who can decide if the Army is for you or not. Remember that you will need to get a GED at least to enlist.
However, once you make the decision to join & you get out to the Fort at which you're to have your BCT, remember that it's not so simple as saying, "I don't want to be here anymore." I have had people that went through BCT with me go to BMD saying that they were crazy just in hopes of getting chaptered out because they didn't want to train/be there anymore.
If you have the will/determination to get through BCT & then AIT, then go for it. Be sure to pick a decent MOS as well!

You will need a GED first. I would say the military isn't for you if you can't follow through on things. The military is a commitment. If you didn't make it through school I don't think you will make it thru basic.

The Army requires a high school diploma or GED. It is structured and intense training. Get your GED and talk to a recruiter.

Well, you need a diploma of some sort. Otherwise, go for it. You'll at least find out what you don't want to do.

Well you have to have good test scores and grades. Nothing makes me more mad than when people accuse our soldiers of being unintelligent.
