By talent it would probably be Phil. But if I were playing in a team match I would rather have someone like Chris Dimarco as a partner. Phil gives me the impression that he does not care if he wins or not. Too many players today do not seem to care whether or not they win, they just want to play well enough to make the cut and collect a paycheck. Look back the past 20 years and see how the U. S. has played in the Ryder Cup. On paper the U. S. is unbeatable but they continually snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory. There are few real competitors on the tour now and I believe that the only real competitor is Tiger. He only worries about winning, which is the purpose.

I'm not going by the rankings when I say this but Furyk. I think he's still number 2 but it's not the reason I say it. Beyond Tiger, he has shown to be the most consistent performer over the last 3 years.

Yeah - Mickelson has won some tourney's but he misses cuts, drops below the top 20 in a tourney other weeks and hasn't settled into consistent high level golf all season. He is hot in the early months but fades late in the year. 2007 is the first time in years he has won past July.

Furyk is not long off the tee but he is a serious competitor, wedge player and usually makes clutch putts.

Phil Mickelson is clearly the second ranked player in the world. He is now 2 full world golf ranking points ahead of Jim Furyk and has also won 18 more times than him. Jim Furyk has 1 major Phil has 3 plus a Players Championship Title. Yeah Phil has his ups and downs, but he is the second best player in the world in my mind.

It's probably Mickelson, although it depends on what week it is. He has good weeks and bad weeks, unlike you know who.
