My fiance is at Ft. Leonard Wood right now. He graduated AIT today. He was suppose to come home next Tuesday on a flight, and then last night they told all of them that they could not out process until Wednesday. He was mad about that but not really mad. Today after graduation they were giving them hell because a lot of guys were caught with dip. Now they are saying that they are not allowed to go anywhere, including the PX or anywhere else on base, and he needs something for his uniform from the PX and he has no way to go and get it. Can they hold him over and not let him come home like he is suppose to because of this? Or are they just messing with them because it is almost over for them and they are almost out of Ft. Hell? I need answers quick please. He is freaking out and I don't want him to go AWOL, which I don't think he would but I need to reassure him with some answers. Thank You All Who Answer!

Yes, they can hold him. They don't "have" to let him do anything. He is basically "property" to the government. & Whether he was caught with Dip or someone he's never spoke to was.. they ALL get in trouble for it. They are team.

Sorry girl, that's the Army way of life for ya!

The military is a profession that gives a person a lot of opportunities to learn to be patient ; many superiors often cause a lot of stress by disregarding the emotions of those whom they are in charge .
Hang in there !

He graduated AIT or basic? Either way, they can't restrict him from necessities. If he needs something for his uniform, he needs to talk to his drill sergeants, not cry to you. You can't help him. It's their job to help him. Plus, if they've graduated, they are no longer subject to phase restrictions, so the dip is not contraband, unless they were specifically told so after graduation.

I'm not sure if he can. I don't think so. Why did they prevent him from going to the PX? Hope he gets home soon. God Bless You, Your Fiance, and America!

Yes they can restrict them.

If they were caught with "dip"

They could court martial them , if they wanted to.

Tobacco products are banned for use, by those in Basic and AIT.

They violated military regulations.

You would have thought he might have grown up some, in Basic and AIT.

You do the crime, you do the time.
