Okay in installed my direct TV but the picture is still terrible. I don't have HD channels yet but is there any way I can improve the picture quality? What accessories do I need to best utilize my Bravia's full potential.

I've heard a lot of people complaining that their satellite TV channels look bad on their new HDTV. I think it's just that you now have a TV that is playing the standard channels on a much clearer picture. And, the old TV was a low enough resolution that it masked the flaws in the picture.

All I can suggest is that you try using different inputs from your satellite receiver. Are you using an RF (coaxial) cable, or are you using the yellow RCA video cable, and red (right) and white (left) audio cables?

Whichever way you have it set up, try it the other way and see if that improves the picture. If not, you'll just have to get the HD package, so you can get the component video signals from the receiver to the TV.

Since the new tvs are made for HD content, it wont be good looking when going back to the old stuff.

But the best connections to use to sharpen your picture is the S-Video connection, if you have that avaiable on the tv and sat reciever use that. If not, use the Composite cables (red, white and yellow)
