it just amazes me how these evangelists succeeded in brainwashing their sheeps into something way so ridiculous!

it's very plain to see that Catholicism is the first Christian religion because every history book tells that. how have these evenagelists managed to jade the minds of their followers from the facts that's right there staring them right at their faces?

Not EVERY history book says that Catholicism was the first Christian religion. And if you were a student of Christian history, you would know that the doctrines that define the Catholic Church are nothing like the doctrines of the original Christian Church as presented in the Bible. Even Catholic scholars acknowledge this.

The Roman church deviated from the Christian teachings in the second century, with emissaries from the Eastern churches sent to Rome to rebuke them for their errors, but they did not listen. And then in the third century, the Roman Church found an ally in the Roman Emperor Constantine, who helped suppress all opposition to the Roman church's doctrines.

Study the first three centuries of Christianity and it will be obvious that the Roman Church wasn't the first, just the one with the most secular clout.

And it is Catholic dominance that has made sure most history books were censored to read what they wanted them to read. .

While it is true that Protestants (but not all) since Martin Luther have called Roman Catholicism 'The Whore of Babylon' nevertheless most modern Protestants regard Catholicism as a part of Christianity.

Catholicism had its roots when Christianity was made the Roman state religion around 360. It was not the official Roman Catholic church until the first pope, Gregory, around 600.
The catholic church was not the first church. It was the first political government that seized Christianity.

Inccorect conclusion, sorry. Most history books do not state the Roman Catholic church in her institution was the first or the only church of Jesus Christ.

Christianity is a broad term for all those who believe in the Christ found in the Bible, the Trinue Son of God. This encompases Roman Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, and Protestants.

As far as doctrinal conflicts, that would be too long for a post to dicuss why Protestants disagree with Roman Catholics, or Eastern Orthodox disagreeing with the RCC for that matter.

Suffice it to say the RCC is within the fold of Christianity as far as major labeling and usage of common terms.

I know that the Catholic church was the original Christian church, but I also have a Bible and know how to read it. I see many things in the Catholic doctrine of today that do not go along with the Bible. That church has a very obvious history of corruption and it has strayed far from its roots.

For that reason - I too will say that Catholicism and Christianity are 2 different things. I will acknowledge that some Catholics are Christians, but not all. I know many people that call themselves Catholic but never go to church or follow any of the teachings at all. A Christian is a person who does their best to follow in Christ's footsteps. To walk in relationship with Him. As far as I can tell, that is not the teaching of the Catholic church of today.

So...What about the 3000 that were converted over night by Peter and company at Pentecost? Were they Catholics? Or Christians?

When you talk about the Catholic church, you also have to mention that, that is where the Political side of religion started. This was NOT Christian, IF you get my drift...

Catholicism is not the first Christian church, the church before the East/West schism which then divided into the Orthodox and Catholic churches was the first church. That said, all Christians belong to the catholic (universal) faith, and Catholics are Christians as much as Baptists, Lutherans, Episcopalians, and non-denoms are Christians.

Ooo. Finally. My studies have brought me here.

I want you to realize something, Christians came about 415 years BEFORE catholicism came into view. Catholicism is the Paganized version of the original Christian faith, and if you read actual history books, INCLUDING the Catholic encylopedia, you will see this.

I will give a few things that is different, major things.

Catholics,
You have to go to confession to be forgiven of your sins, (In the old days, as in the dark ages and before, the pope and fathers of the church would brainwash women into bed this way, aka, guilt)

Mary is regarded higher then Jesus is. Regardless if the people in the religion want to acknowledge that. When people flock hundreds of miles, sometimes thousands, to see the face of what everyone says is Mary in some ice, thats idolizing. When you pray to Mary so Jesus will answer your prayers, thats idolizing. When you say Hail Mary more then you say the lords prayer, in fact 9 times more, thats idolizing.

In the Christian faith, we follow Jesus's teachings as close as possible. Being Married and being a leader of the church was not a sin. The Apostles were married. Their was NO POPE in the original church, it was integrated into the belief system when the Emperor Constantine started the corruption by adding Pagan beliefs.

Jesus never to call anyone father in a spiritual sense. Yet, Catholics have to go to confession to pray to the father of the church. The Pope is translated as Father or Rabbi. Which Jesus was Rabbi, and God the Father is the Father, not a human being.

Also, the church says they can trace the Popes to Peter, which is a lie. For one, Peter wasn't a Pope. And Jesus himself said that He was the high priest of the church, no one else. Everyone is equal and different in the church. Also, there was about 10 Popes that when you read about them, this is in the Catholic Encylopedia, they killed people, raped, incest, orgies, swindling, blashpemous, hatered, the list goes on to even stuff they wouldn't name. They just said that there were times when female animals werent aloud in the churches. If that gives any idea.

Heres a list of them if you wish to look them up outside of religious beliefs.

The worst popes. Sergious III, John XII, Boniface VII, Benedict VIII, Benedict IX, Boniface VIII, Innocent III, Pius II, Innocent VIII, Leo X. To name a few really bad ones.

They also say that the Popes are infallible. Yet there are many many cases that proves otherwise. They even tried making a new meaning to the word so the popes were considered infallible. But, that didn't work. One Pope even brought another pope to court. The pope was dead, nevertheless, the brought him from the tomb, dressed him up, then started asking questions. The smell filled the court room of rotting flesh. Since the Pope that was dead couldn't answer, the Pope that brought him there won, so they stripped the pope that was on trail of everything, threw him in the street, then in a river later.

Hmm, what else. Look Up the god Dagon. He was the Fish god of the old times. The chair the pope sits on, the hat, the people kissing his feet, sometimes worshipping him, all came from the god Dagon. Look it up.

Christians believe that they answer to God ONLY. There is not a single person we have to talk to, pray to, pray with, to recieve forgivness or for God to hear us. In Christian churches there is no high person. There is a pastor that teaches from the word, but he is not regarded any higher then an elder, musician, he is just the one that teaches from the bible, as Jesus said.

We don't believe we have to pray to Mary so she can tell Jesus so he can answer us. Or that saying hail mary helps. Or that seeying mary in a rock is a message from God. Or that Peter, or any other person, was a pope. Or that the leader of the church can't be married, cause Jesus said to be. We call no one father or pope or Arch bishop, deacon, whatever. Arch means Master, and Jesus said to call no one masters because God is the only master. Yet every position of power has some title Jesus said not to use. Pope (Father), Father, Arch (Fill in the Blank), etc.

So, to sum this up, it is in no way ignorance to say Catholics are different then Christians. They ARE different. It is a fact. Not an opinion.

And by the way, I am a Christian that does my own study. I go to church every so often, but as a rule I learn myself. So no, this is not someone brainwashing me, unless you are saying God brainwashes people.

EDIT: Another thing, I am really getting sick of people saying, Jesus said they will hate HIS CHURCH. If this is the case, then EVERY SINGLE RELIGION IS RIGHT! Mormons are hated, Catholics are hated, Christians are hated, Muslims are hated, Buddhists are Hated, I mean, honestly. Find more then a single part of a verse to state your side, its like going into court and having a piece of paper that has part of something this person said, and you are going to use it against him. Its illogical and in more then one way an uneducated response.
