Sleep Tips:
1. Don’t lie in bed for prolonged periods in the morning as that may lead to lethargy.
2. Don’t spend too much time if unable to sleep. Get up from the bed, leave the bedroom and try to engage in other activities like reading a book or novel, if there is difficulty in getting sleep for half an hour to one hour.
3. Don’t think about the problems and worries before going to bed as they disturb sleep.
4. Write down all the worries and problems on the paper if they are disturbing night sleep. And go to bed with peaceful state of mind.
5. Try to visualize and concentrate on any thing which makes the mind free from worries if the concentration can be on that object.
6. Sleep on back as it allows all the internal organs to rest properly and it is the best position for relaxing.
7. Don’t sleep on your stomach as it causes pressure on all internal organs including lungs which results in shallow breathing.
8. Lie back and rub the stomach as it soothes the digestive system and helps in improving the function of digestive system and promotes good sleep.
9. If your bed partner snores, sleep in a separate room or use ear plugs.
10. Don’t suffer with pain. If pain is keeping you from sleeping, consult your healthcare professional about solutions.
11. For a restful sleep, put a pillow under the knees to relieve lower back pressure.
12. Stop the habit of watching the clock, counting the hours and remembering the hours as it leads to lack of sleep. Turn the clock away from you so that you cannot see it.
13. Avoid thriller, murder and suspense books and movies as they are stimulating and activate the brain.
14. Avoid doing mental arithmetic as it keeps the brain thinking and disturbing the sleep.
15. If sleepless nights or insomnia are consistent, change the sleep timings and consider going to bed later.
16. Always try to sleep at the same place regularly as the change of sleeping place may interfere with sleep.
17. Close the eyes and roll it upwards three times. This happens naturally when falling asleep and evidently triggers some sleep chemicals in the body.
18. To get a better sleep without the use of drugs, use light therapy. Light therapy consists of exposure to light for prescribed amount of time. It is used to promote normal sleep wake cycle and decreases sleep disturbances.
I hope this helps.
BEST WISHES!

A peaceful sleep during night is an important need for better and healthy living. I understand that you wanted to know how this can happen without disturbed by thoughts and worries. What I understand, is given below:
(1) Please understand no one in this world without
some form of thoughts/worries. Better, try not
to carry this in your head when you go for night
sleep.
.
(2) Have strong believe in God (The Super-Natural
Power) and devot some time to pray in isolation
and clear your mind from worries/thoughts etc. A
strong belief & place in your mind for God may
remove the thoughts/worries from your mind.
(3) Alternatively, you may approach a psychiatrist
who can advise or prescribe some suitable
medical treatment as per the requirement.
(4) Finally, you may fix an approximate & regular
time gap for your night sleep which can also
help you in this regard.

Sarah, thats cute,I never dangle me little toes either lol
Theres a few ways.Speak to a doctor about a gentle non-addictive sleep aid, there are a few running around.Hit the pharmacy up and ask for same thing, just not prescriptions.Do what i do and get completly shitfaced, but I dont really reccomend that one.
Something tells me something is bothering you though,I would attempt to locate what it is,and if you already know, slowly confront it.Once it is trully dealt with,it will no longer be a problem.Yeah i know easier said than done, wich is why i drinkie outie the bottle lol

It's all psychosomatic. We equate light with good and dark with bad for the simple reason that we are visually limited in darkness. When we can't see everything, it leaves our imagination open to fill in the blanks. Similarly, our sense of "safety" seems to diminish at night only to rejuvenate in the morning when everything is bright a clear. We feel safe in the light because we can see what's happening.

i do rituals like kiss rosary, shut the closet door, open the window, have the sheets over my body but not my feet (never dangle feet over bed)

Some insomnia is caused by eating too close to bedtime. Try not eating after 9pm.
